Just a quick question - with the Disney 7 day premium ticket you get 7 days unlimited access to the 4 main parks, and 7 visits to the water parks, Downtown Disney etc. Am I right in thinking that a day isn't used if we just visited a water park on that day? I know the tickets expire 14 days from when they're first used, but I just want to confirm that if we decided to have a lazy day and just went to one of the water parks, that this wouldn't eat away one of our unlimited park days?

    Thanks in advance anyone

Hello, can somebody advise please if it is possible to visit Disneyworld without a car?

I am thinking of taking my 12 year old son next year but don't drive and so need advice as to where the closest place to all the action is!! Also, what is the weather like in early April?

Thanks in advance for any replies.

    Best wishes

    Carol

    Hi Carol

As usual some great advice has already been given here. All i would add is that if you can afford a Disney hotel then thats probably the simplest way as the Disney transport system is awesome and for the non Disney parks you can try the Mears shuttles https://www.mears.com

if you cant stretch to a Disney hotel, you can try the hotels on Hotel Plaza Blvd, again within walking distance of shops and Downtown Disney and is probably the best location for non drivers.

Then I would suggest hotels in LBV

Personally I would not do i drive or Kissimmee at all but that's just my personal choice, I know many love that area.

    Enjoy

    Hi

Just like to jump in here and say that I am off to Disney on the 6th November for 14 days :j. Never been before although OH has been loads of times. Taking my 2 DD's who are 7 and 5 and am really looking forward to it.

Staying at Kissimmee and booked through Virgin so comes with car

Holidays paid for and spending money done and dusted. Exchanged when the dollar was 1.91/92 so well chuffed with that. Attraction tickets all got for Disney and Universal and even managed to get Aquatica included at no extra charge after a bit of haggling :D

Thats it really but wanted to tell someone as I am getting exited now and only 68 days to go :D.

Woder if it will live up to expectations !!!

I looked at this too as OH has an AA card, one website said to put in your 3 digit number from the back of the card for international members. There is no number so I couldn't get a discounted quote.

I emailed the AA asking about my membership and AAA discounts and they replied saying that the discounts are only available to Personal Members, where those who have membership through a warranty like me aren't.

The first reply I got was an obvious cut and paste following the customer service rep not bothering to read my email at all though, and this bit from it might help you...

AA is a fully reciprocal partner club in our Global Show Your Card & Save (SYC&S) program. This means that you can obtain discounts on the global SYC&S program. We have over 150,000 partners worldwide at which you can obtain savings. You will have the SYC&S logo on your AA membership card. It is all you need to collect savings benefits throughout the United States or Canada.

You can visit www.aaa.com/stop - and enter the "Search for Savings" page through the "International Affiliate Member" in the last paragraph at the bottom of the page, to find any partners worldwide, and from whom you will be able to obtain a savings.

It is advised to obtain IDP's (International Drivers Permits) before coming to the United States. It is worth noting however that these IDPs are only "translation documents" and should always be accompanied by a current, valid driver's license at all times. Varied rules and regulations (in regards to these IDPs) are used by police departments all over the United States.
    http://www.theaa.com/getaway/idp/index.html

Hotels and rental cars can be pre-booked by calling the SYC&S International Booking phone line – use the calling code into the U.S. and then dial 866-AAA-SAVE (222-7283). You will pay for the call until the call is answered; AAA pays for the call until the chosen hotel or HERTZ rental car partner answers; and then the partner will pay for the call until completion.

Just a tip but you can now get the 14 day ulimate ticket at the disney online store for the same price as a 7 day ticket.

i was going to buy a 5 day disney pass with the water park option (no hopper option ) for my family of 5 from a usa seller undercovertourist (who seem very highly regarded). It would have worked out at about £785. However on the disney site they are selling the ultimate tickets ie all parks, water parks, hopping allowed etc for the princely sum of £825 (for the 5 of us).

Whilst this is about £40 more it gives me the choice of doing more than one park in a day and it will last the full 14 days.

i also note that travelcity direct are selling the 2park universal ticket which will also last 14 days for the cheapest price on the net at the moment £315for the 5 of us (4 adults and one child)

Will be thankful for any help offered. I have looked back about 40 pages of this thread and picked up some helpful tips. Looking for some advice.

We have booked two years before we were planning to (been saving for years but the recent expedia austrialia flights were just too good to miss). So we are off in April next year for 12 night. This is really only 10 days as the first and last are travelling. The focus of this holiday are the parks and we thought a 5 day Disney and 3 day Universal would do the trick.

Question 1. I have looked at the various sites suggested for purchasing tickets to get the best deal. However is there a time of year that things might be even cheaper. eg do they have a January sale type of thing?

Question 2. We have booked the Floridays on International Drive. It operates a shuttle to the Disney Parks but not Universal. Apart from the parks one off day included going to a discount Mall of which there is one a block from the apartments. Do I need a car? I will take one if it makes sense.

    Thanks
