Thanks, I think we're gonna give it a go
Are they easy enough to drive? Can you remember if you need to take a driving licence?
Truth be told I thought I would never get the hang of turning (and the leader admitted to me afterwards that he thought the same:o) however it suddenly just worked and once I relaxed it became enjoyable and they won't take you out of the practice area until you and they are happy with you "driving it". No driving licence required, you need to be over 16 though and I took my daughter's passport in case it was asked for.0 -
no its 7 day ticket valid from 7 days from the first day its used. get the 14 day ulitmate ticket.much better value, umlimited 14 days anywhere as much as you want ticket and only cost an extra £10 from disney website
Thats wrong actually, they are valid for 14 days from the first day used.
Do the days ever expire?
Premium tickets will expire 14 days from first use unless the upgrade option is purchased to extend un-used days/visits so they are valid for life. Please note that the exact price depends upon gate prices, but is in the region of $70 - $100 incl. tax. This element must be purchased locally.
Do any of the days have to be taken consecutively?
No, days do not have to be taken consecutively, although all admissions expire after 14 days if not used.0 -

Haha, that's a great vote of confidence from him! Least you proved him wrong in the end
Sounds great, we're going to get it booked now.
As a side note, I notice it says you get 15% of if you're a disney visa card holder. Does anyone know if thats just for US residents or if we can have it over in little old blighty too?Aiming for that elusive 'debt free' by Christmas 2012

I did Discovery Cove when we visited in june and found it to be fantastic. The dolphins do not do anything they do not want, they are free to swim around and choose to come over to you. To be honest do not go there thinking you are going to do your own mini version of the live shows with them, your not. You learn about them whilst performing commands to see how they care for them. You stroke them, have your picture taken and have a ride of about 15 feet on them. It is amazing to be just close to them and to have a chance to spend time in the water with them. They are playful and often come and go from the group, but the experience is fantastic. I have swam with them in their natural habitat in israel and found them to be very similar in behaviour, the main difference was i did not touch as that is in my opinion would have been much worse.
Discovery cove is so much more than just a swim with dolphins though. the park is much smaller thn the other parks so you feel less rushed, less stressed and much more relaxed. The lazy river and the snorkel area are great and my son totally loved the birds. Infact i was the only person who did the swim and yet everyone in our party loved the day.
When booking our tickets i found a link which i will post below. You can go through it and it gets you 15% off the ticket price. They also make a donation of 25$ so money goes to a good cause. You can buy it this way and still get the entry in to Seaworld so it can be a cost saver that way as well. It is not valid for the peak christmas period but dates are available for next year in the early part from what i saw, you would have to look around though.
The link is
nature.org/partners/…discoverycove.html
and the code is TNC08 when you go through the link.
Sorry if this has already been posted, i did a search but this thread would have taken weeks to read thanks to all the fantastic info on it. :T :T :T0 -

Sorry I wasn't clear there either as I was saying you were wrong to say the 7 day Premium ticket is only valid for 7 days whereas in fact you can use it over a 14 day period.0

It is always best to buy the 14 day Ultimate pass if you plan on visiting the Disney parks a lot over a 2 week trip...great for nipping back for a rest and going to different parks in one day. Always cheapest here though:
