Hi everyone, urgent advice needed. Going to orlando 14th august, arrive in Sanford. We need to prebook transport to wyndham on international drive. There are 4 families (8 parent & 7 kids). No idea of sizes of taxis/buses as we will have some hefty luggage (12 cases?). Any recommendations on taxi /bus nyumbers & costs and links if you can. Cheers!!!

I used Sam last year, very friendly and helpful. You can email from the website.

Flying next May from Manchester to Stanford. Can't decide to whether to use VIRGIN orThomas Cook:confused: . Have been reading some reviews about Virgin and they don't seem very good - ageing fleet. Anyone flown recently with TC from Manchester - what do they have on the planes? Any websites recommended to review them?

I've looked at the back of the brochure and it says you are allowed 2 pieces up to 23kg per person. Does this include my 3 and 4 year old? Not that i would take 8 cases as much as i like shopping!! It also says one piece of hand luggage for essentials, again i presume per person including kids?? I think i'm planning on taking 2 large 2 small cases as long as i have enough room for all my spends over there. Any advise on allowances please and what you've taken for a family of 4. Thanks:D

Yep, if you're paying for a ticket (ie not an infant) they've got a luggage allowance. And a hand luggage allowance.
We always take as little as possible and buy stuff there. We take one case each (at least half empty) and take fold-up holdalls to bring extra stuff back in. I also take rolls of bubble wrap (which weighs nothing) and a few sturdy cardboard boxes (empty) to bring back any breakable/fragile items.

Sunscreen, toiletries etc is cheaper in Wal-mart than it is here. On the first day we always wake up about 4am due to the time difference so we go to Wal-mart then and get what we need. (No queues then!)

Make sure you take comfortable, well worn in footwear (trainers etc).

We take (each, for two weeks) 2 pairs of trainers/walking shoes (wear one pair to travel in) and one pair of flipflops/sandals. About 3 or 4 tops, two pairs of shorts. Travel in cropped trousers, which we can wear on cooler days/evenings, a t-shirt and a light jacket/cardie. Swimsuit, pac-a-mac type rain jacket (just in case!). Enough underwear for two weeks (I'm on holiday, I'm NOT washing undies!) Maybe one dress for DD. That's about it.

    Hope this helps.

Dollar dont recognise anyone elses insurance apart from their own sold thru Virgin. Therefore they *may* take a £10,000 reservation on your credit card to cover the cost of you losing/trashing the car.

Its probable that if you go thru a carhire broker, that you will find a car hire and full insurances for less than the cost of Virgins insurance.

USA is the one place where you shouldnt skimp on insurances.....CDW, LDW, UMP, super usually removes the excess.....but IMHO stop at things like tyre insurance and breakdown insurance.
I'm going to Orlando from Manchester on 6th Aug, as part of my package deal I was offered a basic car and 3rd party ins, to upgrade to gold would have been £290. After checking out http://www.uscarhire.co.uk/ I got a free upgrade to Premium car inc full insurance for £269! for £20 more I could have gold package which includes full tank of fuel. I had spent hours searching and these are the best by far.
