Nutha question ... sorry!!
We're flying with Virgin. We've got a hire car (apparently through Dollar?) included free for 2 weeks, and we've paid to extend it for a 3rd. When i asked about insurance, Virgin wanted £399 (pounds!) for their package (excess etc.). Trying to keep the cost down, I was searching through some of Martin's tips and came across this company, www.insurance4-carhire.com.
It looks like there's two possiblilities, either CDW (£109) or CDW / Excess for £129. Has anyone used this company before? Are they any good. Were Dollar (or other hire car company) okay with you doing this? Should I go for the top package?
Thanks again for your advice!!!0 -
Thanx froggit. Do you know where / who are offering the best ticket deals at the moment?0

Has anyone been to Dolly's Dixie Stampede? I quite fancy it, but OH is thinking uh-oh. Is it any good for kids? Again, any ticket offers that anyone has heard of?0

Techically you need both your paper and credit card licence but we only are ever asked fopr the credit card sized one. You will also need a credit card. They will take a print of this and charge any damage or fuel etc to it.
As for hotel rooms. Normally you only get one bed when its a King room. If its a queen or double then it shold be to. Do you know what hte name of the hotel is?
Thanks for this. I suspect the hotel is the Peabody, do you know anything about this?0 -

Its probable that if you go thru a carhire broker, that you will find a car hire and full insurances for less than the cost of Virgins insurance.
USA is the one place where you shouldnt skimp on insurances.....CDW, LDW, UMP, super usually removes the excess.....but IMHO stop at things like tyre insurance and breakdown insurance.illegitimi non carborundum0 -

Hate to be the bearer of bad news, but if you're talking about the one in Orlando, it closed down a while ago.

Just to say, I second everything Frogitt says here
Virgin's so called "free" car is usually way more expensive than doing the whole thing throgh a UK broker which includes insurance as well as the car.
Ditto the advice about insurance above.0 -
Hi,
We're off to Florida for 3 wks in Sept.
Can anyone advise what the best disney ticket prices are at the moment. We've got discovery cove package (with busch, aquatica and seaworld) for the exact middle of the hols, so we were thinking of doing Disney first.
We only really want to go to Epcot, Magic Kingdom and Animal Kingdom, but I understand that they may take more than one day to go around, which is fine (this is first visit to Orlando).
We're 2 adults, 2 children (15 and 10).
I'm signed up to mousesavers, and have routed around the web. But I think I've over-searched, and am now back to the beginning of not really knowing which is best. Thanks so much for your advice.

We go to Orlando three times a year for a total of about 9 weeks. Our kids are 6 and 4 (just) and they are fine doing a hole day in a park. We get there at 9 amd and leave at 12 midnight usually with them both asleep in a stroller for some part of the day.
I think the thing here is kinda what aI mentioned before. Three weeks is a great lenght of time to go if you can as you are able to rest between days and parks. You really will be v tired if you do day after day which I know is really hard as there is so muich to do.
Thats why you are quite right to ask about the choice of ticket. Again it depends on budget but as your kids are older then maybe a hopper typ ticket woudl be good. This allows you to visit more than one park a day. So the MAgic Kingdom has a great evenign show in Spectromagic and the Wishes fireworks so you may have spent a day at Epocot and then pop over the MK for the nighttime.
I normally use https://www.allears.net which is a site run by a very very old friend of mine and is an awesome fact filled place on all teh parks in Disney (and others to) but if helps you with oplanning your stay also.
Also if this is your first time you will want to do more than repeat visitors. Also dpenmds if and when you are able to return to the parks.
As you have three weeks I would go for a five day hopper as a min, if you can afford it got for seven. This allows you to do shorter days.

Its a nice hotel . I woudl suggest you give them a call once booked. Their details are:
[SIZE=-1]9801 International Dr
Orlando, FL 32819, United States
+1 407-352-4000
Ask them for a double room with two queens and you will be fine. If they only have a king then ask for a rollaway bed.
Have fun
