Looking at Florida April 2009 - Good Price???????
Hi all, this is my first post on here so will keep it fairly short.
Having just got back from Florida am looking to book again for next year, have been with Travel City Direct the last 2 years and must say that I won't be going with them again just because of the POOR quality flights. Have been advised by a friend that Virgin flights will be much better.
With this in mind I started to look at prices for flights, the best two quotes for 2 adults and 3 children were from e-bookers and dial-a-flight. We are looking to go 23rd April until 7th May but are flexible in these dates if it means saving money!!
E-bookers and dial-a-flight came out at about £2000 for the 5 of us to fly which I thought was quite good at just over £400pp. These are both for Virgin direct flights as well!!
Called Dial-a-flight and they offered a package which was for the 5 flights, full-size car and 14 days stay at The Quality In Plaza for £2800. This seems quite a reasonable price and am giving some serious thought as Travel City Direct are quoting 2900 for there same package but with the crummy XL flights.
My question is - is this deal as good as I think it is? Couyld I save a significant amount of money by booking individually ( best price for flights alone being 2000) and would it be worth waiting and booking either closer to the time or very late?
Many thanks for reading this - any advice would be greatly appreciated.

One piece of advice I would be is to find out exactly what they are offering you in the way of car hire as many companies will offer what sounds like a great package but then load the costs on the insurance. I'm off next week with First Choice who offer a free car in the package ..... sounds great. I checked out with a lot of car hire companies and saved myself a whole lot of cash by not taking the free car.
Check out the various car hire companies to compare and don't forget to go via the cashback websites to increase your savings  My best deal as I've said earlier in this thread was with Easycar (using Alamo) via wepromiseto.
With the credit crunch we all keep hearing about I can only really see prices rising and Virgin are a great airline to fly with.0 -
Virgin are a great airline to fly with
If youre comparing them with a holiday charter, yes I suppose theyre fine.
Remember, the Virgin Gatwick fleet are the old planes, with seatback entertainment thats old and breaks down constantly, doesnt have the "on demand" films that the Heathrow fleet has, and the seats give your @rse a really hard time for the seven or eight hour trip. Read the Vegas thread......one of the contributors spend 3 hours sitting in the loo as it was more comfortable.
Heathrow fleet, to JFK, LAX, SFO......cant beat it IMHO.illegitimi non carborundum0 -
Depends who you are comparing them with.

thanks.
Where have you tried?
You can buy them from Disney themselves at the gate, they used to even sell them in the Disney Stores here but i think that stopped when they sold of the stores.
Also try online

A couple of questions for the experts on here:
1. If I am hiring a car in the US is my UK drivers license sufficient or is there something else I require?
2. I have seen what appears a good deal on Hotwire. My 11 year old son and I are the only travellers. Is there a possibility that the room may only have one bed?
Any help appreciated.0 -

I agree the virgin fleet out of gatwick is not wonderfull!
We have flown from Gatwick with virgin, BA and travel city direct and to be honest there was not much difference between virgin and TCD at all. But BA were by far the worst!
For us we will choose TCD for our trip in Jan as for the amount of money it saves us (£1000's):eek:0
