hi where going to Disney at Christmas and will be staying at Disney what i need to know is has i don't drive is there a bus from the Disney parks to universal has there are from hotels on international drive,or what would a rough cost of a taxi be? this is the first time we will be staying in Disney has we have always stayed on international drive.would be great full for any advice.thank you.
Not sure if things have changed now, but when we stayed on Disney back in 1999 it was a long winded journey to get a bus between Disney and I-Drive. The only bus that went between Disney property and I-Drive was the Lynx which departed from The Ticket and Transportation Center. Firstly, we had to get the free Disney bus from our resort to one of the theme parks, then a bus (or monorail if Epcot/Magic Kingdom) to the Ticket & Transport Centre, then get on the Lynx bus to the stop outside Seaworld, then the I-Ride Trolley bus onto I-Drive. A one way taxi between our Disney resort and Pointe Orando on I-Drive was $30 (would have though it would be a lot more now). You can also arrange transport via the likes of Mears which we didn't try.
The first time we went to Orlando we didn't have a hire car and I really regretted it.0 -
You can now get the Lynx buses from Down Town Disney so take the resort bus to DTD then either pick up the Lynx bus or a taxi from there.0

I've been 3 times before but that was a few years ago and with my ex husband driving. This time it's me and the kids at first and I need to get from Sanford to Orlando International to collect a friend. Going the route I'm familiar with eases the nerves  LOL0 -

Hi Kelly,
I'm curious, how do you get to I4 without taking a toll road (ie the Beachline aka 528)? Please don't say Sandlake Road, I hate Sandlake Road and all those traffic lights, and traffic lights, and traffic lights... Am always on the lookout for new routes that I haven't found yet..Please stay safe in the sun and learn the A-E of melanoma: A = asymmetry, B = irregular borders, C= different colours, D= diameter, larger than 6mm, E = evolving, is your mole changing? Most moles are not cancerous, any doubts, please check next time you visit your GP.

hi
check out mapqwest it will let you plot routes without tolls. We always fly into MCO so take the 417 south then 192 then 27. Doddle for us and I dont mind paying a few bucks as we have a Sunpass so its a little cheaper.Self confessed Florida expertwith over 320 trips there!

Sorry disney_cjd but that just leads to another question! How long are you there for a year to make it worth your while getting a Sunpass? We spend between 1 month and six weeks per year there but are always looking for ways to save money. Also, if you get one can you put it on a hire car? Please stay safe in the sun and learn the A-E of melanoma: A = asymmetry, B = irregular borders, C= different colours, D= diameter, larger than 6mm, E = evolving, is your mole changing? Hiya, no worries
We are there about 9 weeks a year and my folks are there about 6 months so its worth it even for hassle free value. We were given the transponder for free so that saved the 25 bucks cost.
And yes you can pop it in a hire car. We also use it for airport parking as well.

The US tickets and prices are here
http://disneyworld.disney.go.com/wdw/genPage?id=MagicYourWayStarterPassesPopUp
The UK developed Utliamte tickets are here
http://disneyworld.disney.go.com/wdwi/en_GB/tickets/ticketsUKTickets?id=UKTicketsPage
The thing with everything money saving is to see what you actually want to use them for. So if you are going only once this year and maybe not for a few years after that then it could be the UK Ultimate ones are the way to go. You will have them before you arrive etc etc.
However if you are a frequent traveler or know you are going to return then you can buy the US ones and add the NO EXPIRY option.
You can buy tickets on the door and there are very short queues for this. Also you can buy online and have them delivered to your hotel/villa. I can not recall if you can even collect them from the gate.
Hope this helps. As I say its complex and the real thing is to know how many days use you are going to have. If you are going for a fortnight just think of the days....
Sat to Sat....
That really leaves you 12 days. Four Disney parks. Two universal ones. Plus Sea World Thats 7 out of 12. Maybe some shopping, Kennedy Space Centre and a trip to Buscj Gardens? Thats 10 add a water park or maybe the excellent Cyrpus gardens and you are done (and in need of another holiday to get over this one!)
So if you don't need 14 days access don't pay for it.
Mind you I love the Magic Kingdom so would go everyday if I could0
