Orlando Florida/Disneyworld (Part 2) *CLOSED*

Just wanted to pick up on something already mentioned. For first timers to Orlando it is very important to plan your holiday with rest days between parks where possible. There really is soooooo much to see and do that you will find yourself cramming in way too much towards the end of your holiday if you don't plan it out and this can spoil things a bit. Believe me you will need time to rest between all the fun :j0

Hi,
We're off to Florida for 3 wks in Sept.
Can anyone advise what the best disney ticket prices are at the moment. We've got discovery cove package (with busch, aquatica and seaworld) for the exact middle of the hols, so we were thinking of doing Disney first.
We only really want to go to Epcot, Magic Kingdom and Animal Kingdom, but I understand that they may take more than one day to go around, which is fine (this is first visit to Orlando).
We're 2 adults, 2 children (15 and 10).
I'm signed up to mousesavers, and have routed around the web. But I think I've over-searched, and am now back to the beginning of not really knowing which is best. Thanks so much for your advice.

I would suggest the following for your visit:
Epcot - 2 days
Animal Kingdom - 1 day
Magic Kingdom - 2 days
Hollywood Studios - 2 days
Universal Studios - 1 day
Islands of Adventure - 1 day
Sea World - 2 days
That leaves plenty of rest, and plenty of days where you can visit the parks again. A 14 day Disney Ultimate Ticket (around £160 each) and a 14 day Orlando Flexticket (around £110 each) will get you as many days as you want in this period, and if you start the Flexticket at the beginning of the holiday, and the Ultimate Disney in the middle, you'll be covered for everything.0 -
Another good plan. But remember there is also Cyprus Gardens, Busch Gardens? Kennedy Space Centre? the water parks
I am not sure you can spend two days at SeaWorld INHO.
As I said, it really depends how long you want to spend all day at a park or if you want to hop about. If you do 10 - 6 then you might need two days for some, if you do 10 to 10 then one is fine.
The thing that is clear is that there are so many different ways of doing this. So I think you need to work out teh MUST dos and whether you will be back soon or in a few years or probably not for a while. Also consider the age of your kids and what they like to do.
I think you need to just really work out a chedule, sounds bad to actually plan a holiday down to the days and for everywhere else I do not think thats neccessary but for a first timer in Orlando its a real must. There are lots of websites such as allears and dibbs that set out a good itinary for a 7, 10, 14 ore 21 day trip. It gives you a starter.
The most important thing is you are going to the Magic land so you will have a wonderful time!!!!Self confessed Florida expertwith over 320 trips there!

Dollar dont recognise anyone elses insurance apart from their own sold thru Virgin. Therefore they *may* take a £10,000 reservation on your credit card to cover the cost of you losing/trashing the car.
Its probable that if you go thru a carhire broker, that you will find a car hire and full insurances for less than the cost of Virgins insurance.
USA is the one place where you shouldnt skimp on insurances.....CDW, LDW, UMP, super usually removes the excess.....but IMHO stop at things like tyre insurance and breakdown insurance.
Wow (!!!!)
Okay, can anyone recommend any decent carhire brokers to start working through?
Thanks so much everyone for the fab advice above. We've started our planner (it's on the kitchen wall!!) and have filled in a couple of things already (like Discovery Cove and Kennedy).
I wake up every morning, so excited ... and still have weeks to go!!!0 -
