I would suggest the following for your visit:

    Epcot - 2 days
    Animal Kingdom - 1 day
    Magic Kingdom - 2 days
    Hollywood Studios - 2 days
    Universal Studios - 1 day
Islands of Adventure - 1 day
    Sea World - 2 days

That leaves plenty of rest, and plenty of days where you can visit the parks again. A 14 day Disney Ultimate Ticket (around £160 each) and a 14 day Orlando Flexticket (around £110 each) will get you as many days as you want in this period, and if you start the Flexticket at the beginning of the holiday, and the Ultimate Disney in the middle, you'll be covered for everything.

As other have touched upon you really need to think of the type of parks that suit your party best. Personally my first visit to Epcot was a huge disappointment and we only went a second time because we had first timers with us. This holiday we will not be doing Epcot LOL. Kennedy space center is very interesting and worth the trip although we did find nearby Cocoa beach less than impressive.

another to check before you travel is to see when the shuttle is due to go up. If you have never been in Florida when this goes or comes home then you are really missing something quite awesome. Even from Clermont we can see the orange flames of the rockets as it flies up into space. Then on its re-enter you hear the sonic boom all over Florida.

    The current launch dates are
    2008
    Oct 8 Atlantis

    Nov 10 Endeavour

    2009
    Feb 12 Discovery

    May 15 Endeavour

    July 30 Atlantis

    Oct 15 Discovery

    Dec 10 Endeavour

    2010

    Feb 11 Atlantis

    Apr 8 Discovery

May 31 Endeavour (last one although congress is looking at adding one more).

As to where to see it, the main place people go is Titusville. (And yes thats a place!) Its a nice drive from Orlando. Other palces are like Coco beach as well.

:T i think seaworld can be done in a day.
epcot 2 days if you zooming round, as its two parks in one, epcot, and world showcase, which are both a day each, not forgeting the unforgetable fire work show at the end of the day, make your heart melt. i have been twice to wdw stayed on site at the allstar resorts (great fun) and spent the whole 2 weeks just on disney property, theres the shopping area of downtown disney, which is a great place to stroll and shop in the evening with great places to eat and poeple watch.
if you saty in a disney hotel you can go resort hopping and go check out the othere hotels, all of which are themed, log cabins, safari, hawaiian, etc and all have relevenat themed restaurant and shows, that can take a few days to go round these , and go by monorail if you can! the parks are great fun and exhusting if your there from the 'ropedrop' when all the characters come out and open the park, through till the kiss good night when the parks close.
2 weeks never long enough...next time 21 days!

A-ha, you mean Fastasmic. Yes this is great, And whats even better you can book dinner at the nearby restaurants and then gain preferred seating to the show. See http://www.studioscentral.com/food/fantasmic.html

The show fills up quickly and is a water and light effect show based on Fantasia.

    Enjoy

  • I'm curious what is the cheapest any of you have managed to do Orlando for all in (inclusive of food etc)?
If it costs us the same as it did this year then I'm looking at having to wait another 4 years to save up enough to go back when really I want to be there yesterday! LOL

Marshmallow, It's rather difficult to answer as we all have different tastes in eating, but here goes. May 08 Three of us had 16 days in an apartment at Island Club Villas including Virgin flights and a full size car (free upgrade) on gold insurance for £2138. We had 5 theme park days at an average £25/day (non expiry 10 day passes bought two years ago) say £375 and we spent about £250 on other nature type attractions.
Food was a mixture of eating in, Golden Corral (senior rate) ;) and "nice" restaurants say £700. Fuel came to about £40.
That gives a grand total of £3500 or a rounded up £1200 each. Two weeks would have been about £1000 each.
When we first took the kids in 1993 it cost us over £1500 each and that was sharing a villa with another family

HOWEVER, don't ask me how much we spent in the shops  :rotfl:

Hi everyone, urgent advice needed. Going to orlando 14th august, arrive in Sanford. We need to prebook transport to wyndham on international drive. There are 4 families (8 parent & 7 kids). No idea of sizes of taxis/buses as we will have some hefty luggage (12 cases?). Any recommendations on taxi /bus nyumbers & costs and links if you can. Cheers!!!

I think the main taxi/bus/transportation company there is called Meers.

Or why not hire a couple of 8 seaters for the duration of the holiday?

Don't this I've seen this posted on the forum yet but Alamo car hire are now doing the best package for under 25s. When taken with the gold insurance the Young Drivers package costs £25 per week and means no young driver surcharges are payable locally. Previously Budget had the best offer at £50 per week.

Visit https://www.uscarhire.co.uk/ and click the 'Include young drivers' box.
