A little help please, just trying to get response organised. Newbies thread (2014) suggesting to email SAR to the PPC however most posts I've been reading are sending SAR and response direct to solicitor (BW), seem to be stuck at the first hurdle here. what is best to do

The NEWBIES thread is correct (did you miss the date it was last edited?!).

Don't go sending some rubbish old 2017 template of waffle to the solicitor...

Soooo.... Apparently v5 copy is not enough, they have refused to process the SAR, asking for further ID. I have confirmed my address postcode and requested it on the email they already have on file, my only thoughts are either issue them with Id of which I'm reluctant or complain/complain to ico but the timescale is the issue

    What you you guys think?

Write back to Napier giving them one more chance (7 days) to respond as you have provided sufficient ID via the V5C, or you will report them to the ICO.

Carry out the threat if they continue to drag their heels.
Please note, we are not a legal advice forum. I personally don't get involved in critiquing court case Defences/Witness Statements, so unable to help on that front. Please don't ask. .

I provide only my personal opinion, it is not a legal opinion, it is simply a personal one. I am not a lawyer.

Heard back from both bw and napier today

Napier still refusing, a long worded reply but saying they have taken advice from ICO and they were told that it is for them to decide what it proportionate, and that they would consider a redacted DL covering photo and DOB.

Its difficult to know what to do for the best I'm well aware of time to ticking on and I want to be prepared for court papers. But I also think they are being overly awkward

Bw are laughable, actually can't believe how they operate. I sent a letter as per NEWBIES thread confirming address for correspondence denying debt and asking for data to be put on hold, I also informed them I will not be disclosing contact number or DOB and provided their reference

I've just had a generic reply stating that I have not supplied all the infomation they require for them to reply, listing all the info they require. They have no right to assume I even have a contact number not that I would supply them with it, I also didn't confirm whether they can reply on the email, which was also on their list of requirements . I have confirmed my address for correspondence. What a bunch of clowns!

    You believed them?

Read that, then read this thread also about Napier:

In particular, Fruitcake's quotes from the ICO in post #32.

I had previously read some of the info relating to the ICO guidelines, and I agree , my only concern is the timescale, I still haven't had a final response from the last complaint to the ICO that was in feb I believe, I don't want to be in a position of trying to sort a defence without the SAR because the ICO are still investigating why napier haven't provided it

I would still do that complaint to the ICO. Why do Napier think they know you enough as a data subject to sue you, yet not to give you a SAR?

Many people write defences long before the SAR comes back.

Totally agree, I'll get it organised at the weekend

I appreciate what you guys do here. I refuse to be bullied by these people and without your help I would struggle.

Now to deal with the bw clowns
