I give you an example to illustrate my point. I don't have to legally pay tv license, now you tell me what would the judge say if I go to court and explain my legal defence for not paying tv license?

If you watch BBC either live or via a catchup service the you legally HAVE to have a TV license.

If i bought the same dyson at amazon or at costco for cheaper they would have replaced or refunded the item straight away without the need to contact manufacturer and waiting for the manufacturer to repair. If only i realised then. Thats what you call customer service.

So with instores now you only get 14 or 28 or 30 or 45 or whatever days returns now? After that they can legally sod you off?

So you think someone should be able to buy a product, use it for 5 months , then return it saying it is faulty and be immediately given a new one, Then 5 months later they return it saying it is faulty and they immediately get a new one , and after 5 months they return it...........

And all on the customer's say so, with no checking to establish that it is faulty

A good way to keep getting new ones.

To be fair to the OP, they didn't state that they didn't have a TV licence, just that they didn't have to pay for one. They may get a free one due to their age.

They didn't even state that they had a TV - the whole piece about the TV license is a complete irrelevance.

I'm a slattern. I've not put the hoover on since Monday. Funnily enough I've not disappeared under a mountain of dust and bunnies. You can barely tell.
I suspect on a good week Dyson could have picked up your cleaner and had it returned within those 5 days.

Never heard of that term, said to the wife a while ago don't want people to think you are a !!!!!!, still got the black eye.:embarasse

Never mind allow it. This thread is getting way out of hand and off topic :rotfl:

Ok summary of my understanding is so far of the rights:

before 6 months = there's a chance for customer service
after 6 months = shop tells you to get lost.

    Correct me if im wrong.

After 6 months its the customers responsibilty to prove it was faulty inherently, the relevant act states this. So your not told to get lost.

If a business decides to swap/replace a faulty item with a new 1 then its up to them.
