Hi, about 7-9 months ago i received 3 car parking tickets being parked in a bay at the back of my work place. The place required permits to charge that i wasn’t aware of until i got my first parking ticket. When i got my parking ticket i checked online and many people said i could ignore the fine, i learnt my lesson and stopped parking there after i got my third one. Evidently this was my own mistake.
Many months have passed and many letters and threats i have ignored and this morning i received 3 county court judgement letters from Gladstone Solicitors
It says i have to pay £243 ish on each letter for each fine
£25 court fee and £50 legal representative fees included.
I have 14 days to respond and it have been given the option to put in a defence however this is my first time so i’m completely clueless.
i’m 20 years old, unemployed and studying at my final year at university so paying approximately just under £800 is something that i just can’t afford.
Is there anybody who can help me, it would mean so much to me

You do not understand about CCJ's .... READ UP HERE
    https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/5849106/the-ccj-myth-and-threats-and-lies-told-by-debt-collectors-and-ppcs-exposed&highlight=myth

By law, Gladstones must provide a "letter before claim" which must prove their claim and give you 30 days to respond (not 14 days)

Do these letters ask you to pay a third party of pay Gladstones direct ???

PS: Gladstones add on fake charges so will not owe that amount

Everyone is politely asked to read up on this in the newbies FAQ thread near the top of the forum before starting a new thread

Assuming that you have received claims from court, then concentrate on #2 in the FAQ

That explains Court process, how to gain an extra 14 days to submit the defence and how to start preparing a defence

Take the time to understand this

    Don't panic!

(If you really have received "judgements" then let us know as they need urgent attention!)

What do you mean by "County Court letters from Gladstones"? That makes no sense whatsoever. They are either from the County Court OR from Gladstones not both.

What EXACTLY have you had and from whom?

Hi i’ve had letters before this, i think it was called letter before court action? that i’ve ignored and now i’ve received a letter called Claim Form
In the “County Court Business Centre”
It is asking me to pay Gladstone directly and also i have been mistaken.
It isn’t Euro Car Parks it is Euro Parking Services limited.

Hi, i tried to find the newbie thread but i wasn’t sure which defence was ideal for me.
Also if i have 3 identical court letters about 3 different fines, do i issue one defence and post them together? or 3 different defences?
I am aware that i can login with the details provided on this judgement form to extend it to 28 days instead of 14 which i will do today.
If i send off a defence and lose does this increase the costs or affect my credit score?
    Thank you for replying

    Hey i’m sorry if i wasn’t clear.
    It says:
    Claimant: Euro Parking Services limited
Address for sending payments & documents: Gladstone Solicitors
Court Address: County Court Business Centre

    followed by a
    - response pack
    - acknowledgement of services form
    - admission form

i have three sets of these letters including everything stated above.
    hope this clarifies

I am puzzled, have you received a CC judgement, or a CC Claim?

If the latter, £243 is more than the Law allows. Gladstones know this but they keep trying to sucker people into paying.

The most a Judge is likely to ward if he finds for the PPC is not likely to exceed £200, the rest is solicitors pire in the sky money, fraud imo.

Why not complain to their regulatory body, the SRA

    http://www.sra.org.uk/home/home.page

    and also to your MP
This is an entirely unregulated industry which is scamming the public with inflated claims for minor breaches of alleged contracts for alleged parking offences, aided and abetted by a handful of low-rent solicitors.

Parking Eye, CPM, Smart, and others have already been named and shamed in the House of Commons as have Gladstones Solicitors, and BW Legal, (these two law firms take hundreds of these cases to court each week, hospital car parks and residential complex tickets have been especially mentioned. They lose most of them, and have been reported to the regulatory authority by an M.P. for unprofessional conduct

The problem has become so widespread that MPs have agreed to enact a Bill to regulate these scammers. It has even been suggested that some of these companies have links with organised crime.

Watch the video of the Second Reading and committee stage in the House of Commons recently. MPs have a very low opinion of this industry.

and complain in the most robust terms to your MP. With a fair wind they will be out of business by in the not too distant future..
You never know how far you can go until you go too far.

The Newbies thread is here https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/4816822/newbies-private-parking-ticket-old-or-new-read-these-faqs-first-thankyou

You need to deal with this otherwise you get a ccj. This is what happens when you bury your head in the sand.

Post 2 deals with court claims. There is a Dropbox link that you need to study and follow carefully in post 2.
