ref westferret comment about virgin mobile £10 sim offer below,
I have had it for the last year & found it takes some beating!
but the offer went of in January last, but yes it has come back I rang them yesterday to order anther contract for the wife, And informed them that on the web site it still says £10 per month for 100 minutes & 100 texts But the assured me it has gone up again to
300 minutes & 300 texts & they were going to get the offer up dated on the internet site
its a bargain!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Dead right - I've just registered for the same deal, but it's not on the web site. It's a phone only offer to existing Virgin customers. Give them a ring to say you're interested and ask them to phone you back.0 -
I wouldn't say no to any cash back deals. My last two or three contracts have been cashback deals and I've always managed to get my cash without any problems, even when the operator switched part way through the year.
I think if you go with a bigger company like Phones4u or Carphone Warehouse then you'll be ok. I even managed to get more cashback than advertised last time by getting the shop to match another deal. I not only got £180 cash back over two cheque payments on a £35 a month contract but walked away with £60 cash in hand when I left the shop!
I'd definitely look at cashback deals again next year. It's not just the receiving, it's the sharing of discounts that matter0 -
My husband had a mobile cash back deal and after really forcing their arm with solicitors we got back 3 refunds back out of 5. After a recorded letter to them about the last two refunds it has been sent back by the post office as 'not at this address'. The offer was through Onecompare with a company called Mobile Affiliates. Beware!Like classic rock with an up to date feel?
Me too! My son has a rock band, ask me about them! :beer:0 -
Anyone round here familiar with Vodafone Family?
One Vodafone user pays five pound a month, nominates three other Vodafone numbers, and all four can ring each other for no extra cash.
I ask as it would suit me and the missus down to the ground - save us a fortune compared to the Three tariffs we're currently on. But Vodafone seem to want to hide it away (you'll have to do a search on the website to find it).
If there's no catches, it would appear to be an absolute bargain, but I don't want to spend fifty quid on a new PAYG mobile if it's withdrawn next month, or somesuch.....0 -
Hi palecitrus,
You've pretty much explained everything perfectly there about Vodafone Family. It's £5 per month for you plus 3 other numbers in a group, or £7 a month for you plus 5 numbers.
You can all call eachother up to 60 minutes per call, as many as you want, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week just for one person paying the subscription.
You can run one group yourself and be a member of up to 3 (so only 2 if you have your own group.) Numbers in your group can be either Contract or Pay As You Talk. There's more info about Vodafone Family here.
Hope this helps,

Fresh - £6@50mins/50txts = 12p/min for minutes only
Virgin - best deal but will it continue? I'm only a payg customer but if I can get it I will do this one
Voda family - I've seen this used for a while; reliableOrder of events: Banks lose our money -> get bailed out -> were inflating GBP to cover it -> now taxing us -> next will grab your funds direct -> things get really desperate to balance the books. What should have happened?: banks go bust and we lost our money much quicker0 -
Can someone please point me in the direction of tihs deal. I am obviously not looking in the correct place. Can't find it for love nor money....

It can also be canceled for the next month so your not stuck in the contract for ages. I've got a pay as you go samsung e250 (£50) and that it's a brilliant deal i think.0 -

hi,
beware of mobile shop. I have two phones with them and unable to get cashbacks despite all their promises. Does anyone know if they are in difficulites or what the matter is with them. :rolleyes:0 -
Hi
I need to find a cheap pay as you go phone for my aunt, just a basic phone that she can use to make the odd call.
She will use less than £10 in a year so needs to be on a tariff that does not take your credit away if you don`t use it. My hubbie has a tesco value sim and that seems fine for that.
Can anyone recomend a phone that is unlocked or easy to unlock, that also has a good battery life? I did oncee get a cheap moblie for my hubbie for car and it was usless at keeping it`s charge.
Thanks0
