So glad i've found this thread. My dd is 10 in January (going on 17!) and is VERY stroppy. It all seems to be my fault and if looks could kill - well lets just say i would be watching all this whilst polishing my halo!

I also have 2 year old boy so i'm getting the tantrums from both ends of the spectrum. Anyone know where you can sell them on?
oh no, you poor thing!! Personally i wouldnt sell mine...........theyd be FREE.
Mind you i can imagine when they grow up and leave home we would be yearning for these days again;) . Got to say mind that we could all do a lot worse from what i read, some children i read about in the papers are dreadful.

sigh.... I have a 10 year old DD too.
Mine has been stropy since birth though!
She grumps, she b*tches (about everyone and everything), she moans, she shouts, she yells, she fights with DS1 & DS2, she cries, and most of all, she speaks to me like I am the biggest piece of dirt in the world.
    But we love her (just!!)
Everything is my fault, and if I even consider putting anyone but her first - don't I just know it.
Not a day goes past without a serious temper tantrum, but to be honest, she's always been like that. We handle her the best we can, which basically means ignoring most of it, but reminding her calmly (and frequently) that she needs to calm it..... And one of my most frequent sayings is ''please don't speak to me like that, I don't speak to you in that way do I?''
We've tried all sorts over the years with her - rewards/punishments, star charts, exclusion, the lot, but we've come to decide that it's just her personality to be grumpy!! She certainly doesn't lack attention - we do all sorts with her to try to keep her sweet (but not to the point of spoiling her!!).
And I know this sounds strange, but she is basically a happy child - when she's not 'off on one', she's very happy with friends (until they go home and she starts b*tching about them), or happy amusing herself in her room.......

    Kids eh???

Oh yes, we get that, and most of it she makes up too!!
And none of the 3 can walk past each other without a kick or punch.
I don't think DS1 (he's 15) has spoken to her for the past 5 years either....

Good luck with that one - it took me half an hour to figure out what she was meant to do with a maths worksheet the other day. She explained it to me though and it was quite simple in the end :rotfl:

Does it help you work out the frustrations?:D

My littlest one was lovely tonight and nobody else was naughty so I guess it makes it all worthwhile.
Why can't we keep them aged 4-5 for longer...?

    Oh dear lord...

Told madam earlier about the book. DS just arrived in the livingroom crying with laughter demanding to see the book I bought her that (in her words) Tells her when her boobs will grow, when the "thing" starts bleeding and how she stops her armpits smelling.......

    What have I done!!
