    O.... ...M.. ...G!

Now Im worried. I got two DS at 11 and 13 (on xmas eve). The oldest seems to be developing ok. Not too many strops - but the youngest  hes like a stroppy girl. Stomping, tears, arguing then cuddles etc. etc. It looks like he might be maturing early so Im gonna have two boys at roughly the same stage through their teens. They are like chalk and cheese and if they're not bestest bestest mates they're having o be dragged apart.

Anyone wanna adopt ME for the next couple of years (next decade) till they've grown out of it.

    I've been Money Tipped!
Thanks everyone I feel a bit more "normal" reading your accounts...:D

This morning we had a new issues; she could only find 1 shoe and of course it was my fault.... Never mind the fact that she came home in trainers after a Netball club and left her bag stuffed with her uniform downstairs in the hallway (even after I asked her to pack it away).
I offered her the choice of hopping to school or wear another pair of shoes suitable for school. But off course she hates the shoes ( ), they're not comfy even though we bought them together....
I ended up leaving the house with my 2 boys and she followed 2 min later as I simply couldn't cope with arguing any more (we live 2 doors down from the school, so not much of an issue there).

To make things better, my nearly 8 yo son also had issues this morning; was wearing the wrong colour socks, so I asked him to change and he then stormed in my bedroom while I was getting dressed demanding grey socks. I asked him to try again with manners and helped him find a pair in his own drawer. Later he was stroppy 'cos his PE kit had disappeared from the coat cupboard. Funnily enough it had reappeared when I looked.

I am not a morning person and find that I just can't handle arguments and disputes in the morning when I try to get 4 out of the door on time. MY OH is away (returning at the weekend) and I simply struggle to keep sane with demanding children and a bit of pressure at work.
So once again, I driove to work with a lump in my throat this morning and I hope I will not collapse in a heap later this afternoon when I have my yearly assesment with my boss... (he is lovely but I really need to stand my ground on a few issues where I feel I am being used ...)
And since I am trying to lose weight I am denying myslef the pleasure of a glass of wine when they are in bed. So thanks for reading and responding.:T

I sympathise with you all. Not that im a mother, but being a stroppy teen wasnt that long ago for me. I blimming hated it!

i would hate to be a parent of a teenager, one word they dont like the sound of and voom - instant mood. I used to be stroppy, cryey, hated how i looked, wanted my body to be the opposite of what it was. It was the hardest time of my life, bullies and pressures from school work and trying to fit in are just extreme.

good luck for the next 10 years :p

hope your appraisal went well today and i think the stress of the morning would have easily burnt of any calories from a glass of wine
i prescribe a glass some candles a hot bubbly bath and a good book - once they are all settled for the night

  • Now boys I can handle! As I said DS is 14, almost 15 and he is probably the most angelic teenager ever. He is a big lad, looks about 17 and towers over me, but he is such a softie. He wont go to bed without a hug from me.

I try to stay out of his room, his space and all that, but he is incredibly tidy. he cleans for me (Im a full time student now) and helps out wherever he can. He has been known to start cooking the evening meal if he is home before me. this morning he went on a mission to track down a nasty smell in the kitchen and when I walked in he had emptied the bin and cleaned the sink!!!!

Of course he and his little sister do frequently bicker, but for the most part they are pretty good. I dont think ive ever known DS loose his temper, unlike "madam stroppy knickers" as she has been affectionately christened!
OMG I want him!!! He seems to have a lovely nature. My eldest is sometimes found at foot of our bed sleeping mind, think we forget his age cos hes bigger than his dad! Squeak (ten yr old) tries to copy his brother mind, and can be found saying "take a chill pill mam". Anyone know where i can get these chill pills?

Dont mention tampax to me! came home 2 years ago to find boys had used thread from top to bottom of stairs and all my tampons were dangling from it!! Youngest saw an advert once for the pads "with wings" and wondered if he could have them to "fly" his little soldiers on. Little things like that make up for all the rest dont you think?:rotfl: Still want an ADVERT FAMILY sometimes tho.

he is very sweet, my mother jokes he will still be living at home when he's 40!

DS tries the bed thing, OH had got up for a shower sunday morning and in wandered DS who wanted to sleep in our bed. I think I offended him when I told him no, he was perhaps a little too old for that now haha He went back to his room quite deflated :o

if you have any luck with those chill pills do let me know! I find a good strong Vodka and Coke usually works just as well ;)

Oh, and just had an email from Amazon, the book is on its way!

So glad i've found this thread. My dd is 10 in January (going on 17!) and is VERY stroppy. It all seems to be my fault and if looks could kill - well lets just say i would be watching all this whilst polishing my halo!

I also have 2 year old boy so i'm getting the tantrums from both ends of the spectrum. Anyone know where you can sell them on?
