Hi Sue and all of my friends on this challenge.
I've been absent for so long and I may not post again until after the sealed pot opening day.
In June, while I was on holiday, in Turkey, I received the news that.my husband had died unexpectedly. We had been separated for several years but we had still been close.
After returning from my holiday and after the funeral I once again returned with my eldest daughter to Turkey again.
When I returned home again i worked solidly for 6 days to sort out probate and posted everything to the probate office on the Friday.
Saturday morning my son messaged me to say he was in hospital after a low impact accident on a motorbike(he was test driving it at work) He sustained 7 broken ribs and after 10 days they had to operate to plate and screw some of these back into position..
Happily this time I was not on holiday and was able to be with him in the hospital and went back to stay with him in his home after his discharge to recover.
However, on Monday morning I awoke to find he too had passed away. He was 48.
I don't have the words to describe how I feel today.

Just catching up with news after my holiday:-
Oh Frogletina I am so sorry to hear your news, you must be totally devastated. I will be thinking of you at this very sad time. xx
It's a shame about the job Hettyhound, but I'm sure there is something else out these that will suit you, keep searching......... wishing you lots of luck.
Sorry to hear about your DH Melodylady. Take care of yourself as well as your DH and treat yourselves to that holiday. Memories are precious.
Returned from our holidays to rain and it's all go in work too, so my feet have not touched
the floor since Monday. DD is moving on Friday so I have to go and house sit the new house to wait for white good deliveries while DD and DSIL organise the move. I will have DD's puppies for company though, so it won't be too boring. I threw a couple of pounds in the pot earlier in the week but haven't got anything to pot today. Better luck tomorrow!
Hope you had a fabulous holiday Sue-UU and are refreshed and ready to take on the autumnSPC 16 - #09 Totals: 2014 - £264.51 2015 - £207.50 2016 - £396.79 2017 - £369.49 2018 - £484.24 2019 - £309.90 2020 -£282.06 2021- £1839.89 2022 -£1627.830 -
Oh Forgletina, I am so so sorry for your losses I have no words at all, just know I am thinking of you at this time and sending you warm heartfelt hugs xx
No pennies today as have only been out to walk Harley. Hopefully will have some change later in the week when we need to do the milk and bread run
Stay warm (or cool as the met office can't seem to decide if we are going to drown in torrential rain or bake in super hot weather) everyone, hugs to all that need them xxSPC No 002 SPC(3) £285/£250 (4) £519.84/£500 (5) £768.32/£500 (6) £911.30/£600 (7) £913.23/£600 (8) £1184.82/£750 (9) £2864.04/£750 (10) £3846.25/£1000 (11) £1779.72/£1000 (12) £1596.55/£1000 (13) £1534.70/£1000 (14) £775.60/£1000 (15) £700.20/£1000 (16) £2081.34/£1000 (17) £0/£10000 -

Frogletina. I am so sorry for your losses. We will be here waiting when you feel that you can come back, but in the meantime, be kind to yourself xx
Fellow potters, I received an email from Sue this morning, and she agreed that I could post it here in our lovely group.
"I've got big problems with my health. Before we went on holiday I needed x-rays as I've had great pain in my neck, shoulder and back for the last few months. On Monday I received the results, I have severe degeneration of the discs in the neck and spine, also problems with my left shoulder. T and I are quite devastated and even had to return early from our holiday.
In January '18 I had a seizure at the top of the stairs and landed with my head banging into the outer wall and my lower back on the floor, my legs still pointing upstairs! Until the pain I knew nothing. I spent the night in hospital and gradually recovered at home, Terry being amazing.
Due to the epilepsy I've had so many nasty falls through my life so I can understand that the body can only take so much. I'm now awaiting an appointment to see an Orthopedic surgeon about what, if anything, can be done. To be honest, I'm quite frightened by it all as there is so much pain for which I can only take Paracetamol due to chronic gastritis. My Dr says I can use Meloxicam but I'll be at risk of stomach ulcers!
I honestly don't think I can continue with SPC, as bending my neck to type is so very difficult. I'm writing to you via my mobile as I can lift it to eye level to do so"
So, as you can see, our Sue is unwell. We can't let this group go, so unless someone wants to take over now, I propose to take over running the thread until pot opening day in October. When everyone has declared for this year, we can consider how we go forward. What do you all think? I am of course happy to stand back if there is another potter who would like to run the thread going forward, but we do not want the thread to close, so I am equally happy to cover.
I am sure we all wish Sue well, and hope she pops in to see us soon.

32b3 that is incredibly kind of you and please send my best wishes to Sue when you next communicate. Sadly there has been so much unhappy news recently. I wish I had a magic wand to make every bodies troubles disappear but all I can do is send out lots and lots of virtual hugs :grouphug:
I don’t think there is much else I can say at the moment except yes please to your kindness at volunteering to see us through to the end. Oh Sue big hugs to you should you pop in to read. I would be sad to see SPC go, we've had so many years and saved so much! Whatever happens, it wont stop me potting but I would miss being able to tell you all about it, does keep me motivated.
To stay on topic, £42 in £2 coins in the pot and £30 in notes as I sold my broken iPhone on ebay! 7 weeks to go are we at? Erm, nah, I am not scary, but as I can’t work out how to do double quoting, I am already a failure!!
I would also be sad to see the group disappear, so if no one else has a burning desire to run the next thread, I will do it. Let’s see what happens and muddle along for the time being
