I'm not saying take action against DRP, the monies already paid is now a lost cause.
The OP simply stops his direct debit and claims he was harassed and
coerced into believing something that might never happen.
DRP are not going to take action if what they have done is unlawful0 -
Watching this with keen interest as I too have fallen into their trap...have only paid £10 thus far though. Re Direct Debit agreement, they don't use them and instead rely on long-standing Debit card transactions on a monthly, pre-arranged basis. And the 12-month timescale is a lie - I owe £160 and pay £5/month. So 32 months, not 12. I now feel pretty secure to cancel this as it seems to be total horse as far as I can tell. Many thanks to all your comments, realise I'm a latecomer to the feast but have benefited immeasurably (assuming I'm not summoned to court by Christmas)...0

And if I had to take an educated guess I would say if OP stopped paying, DRP wouldn't pursue any further (I know they actually cant) what I mean is I don't believe the PPC would pursue any further, its a gamble though.0 -
Re how I know calls aren't recorded, 2 things - firstly, I BELIEVE I'm right in saying it's illegal to record you over the phone without your knowledge and therefore implicit consent. But moreover, I asked them outright.0

Thank you all for all your responses they are very much appreciated, I’m airing towards not continuing with payments as I don’t actually have a written agreement with them, and felt pressurised to make these payments.
Just wait, others will be along with their comments, I am only saying what i would do
Of course you felt pressurised, this is the whole point0 -
Yes I understand I’ve lost payment, I just don’t Want to continue making any more.0

DRP would be stupid to go further but that does not stop the PPc having another pop at it. Mind you by then, it would expose DRP and their scam0 -

Well its your chance to take simple as that, if their calls are not recorded as you say it works as much in their favour as yours, they can say what they want, you can say what you want, only a Judge will be able to say who is lying and who is telling the truth.
Cancel your arrangement with them and roll the dice, IF they take you to small claims court (PPC not Debt dummies) then come back here and formulate a good defence, this could be a good test case for many, especially if you win0 -
the fee (max chargeable) is £100 , DRP have added extra charges on , I suspect that this action would not be acceptable under UK law where credit was being offered
cant seem to find DRP at the credit services agency http://www.csa-uk.com/consumer/our-members/0
