I’m certainly of the mind to cancel the direct debit agreement and test this, the payment they’ve already taken is exorbitant. The discrepancies in payment terms between myself and loweandbehold already they were breaking the law in the suggestions they made over the phone.

Go for it, I can understand your anger etc, I too would feel aggrieved if I was scammed. Just remember the game your playing is rigged, they may well have broken the Law but it wont be you that can do much about it maybe the new parking bill will (we all hope) just concentrate on defending a claim should the PPC issue one.

Every one of these scammers and their debt dummy associates do not give a jot about peoples angry feelings, they are only in it for the money BUT they can be beaten legally in Court, that's what EVERYONE should do who receives a scammers invoice, take the emotion out of it, beat them in Court job done!

And ANY exposure of this scam cant do any of us any harm, in fact I've just advised loweandbehold to go for it (entirely their choice of course) be interesting to see how it all works out.

I thank Castle for pointing us to this.

I am going to add this to my post

Yeah I’ve just checked on my banking app, and there is no direct debit set up, they are just requesting payment each month. How can you stop them being able to do this?

As far as the 'payment plan' is concerned, does anyone know of the intrinsic differences between a D/D and a payment that goes through as 'Debit Card Transaction'? To my mind, the latter would PERHAPS hold less sway legally...
A Direct Debit has the advantage of the Direct Debit Guarantee.

No such guarantee is available for a 'continuous payment authority' agreement with a Debit Card.

However, a Chargeback may be possible against a debit card payment if you can convince the card issuer that money was wrongly taken.

We seem to be drifting even further away from parking issues here.

Debit card. Debt recovery plus is not on my list of direct debits, but that is the name that comes up on payments taken.

Instruct your card issuer to accept no more payment requests from DRP.
