Bit of a nothing day today. Woke up at normal time, spent ages waiting for my parents to get up and then they decided they wanted to watch TV so was just a case of sitting around for the rest of the morning. Did get out for a dog walk which was much needed (for me not them, I was getting cabin fever!) but didn't do anything else for the rest of the day until it was time to drive home. My parents always moan that they never do anything/go anywhere but I can see why, they're slaves to their TV! They get out and about but everything is scheduled around the TV. I find it a little frustrating.
Came home this evening, house wasn't too bad but OH hasn't looked after the animals properly so I'll be having words - he asks for a list every time I go away and then proceeds to ignore it! I'm not impressed.
Anyway, enough of the moaning, I bagged a NSD so that's a bonus, am up to 5 now. Sorted the animals out and now I'm off to bed. Still have a week and a half to enjoy before the new job starts. I contacted my new employer about my lack of P45 (old employer is being an a**e about sending it on before a specific date) hopefully will avoid any tax issues but am prepared if it happens. Also got a pet insurance quote as it's up for renewal, will need to sort that tomorrow.0 -
Day 9
Like a lotus flower, we too have the ability to rise from the mud, bloom out of the darkness and radiate to the world
Let's be teddy bears in our next life. Everybody loves them, no-one cares if they're fat and the older they get, the more they're worth

Hugs Kerry Woman.
Quite a good day but have mostly been quiet and not tried to do much. Went to mum's to get my hair cut, I got my money out but mum insisted on paying. Hairdresser had told me to take lots of photos at the wedding, so I took the laptop which has the album of all the photos other people took.
Was going to attempt carrying on to the SM but was feeling wiped out by then, so came home 3pm and just read for a while. Hoping to crack on with things tomorrow as I don't need to be anywhere until the evening - going to a remembrance themed concert (brownies are doing a little play). If I'm struggling I will start setting up to do things over the weekend - bathroom sink is so beautifully clean and shiny I keep wanting to stroke it.
Trolley has been returned
Will start with the easy wins and see how far I get.

Thinking of you Kerrywoman.
Hooray for a shiny sink Mothernerd. I had a vivid dream last night about ... housework. I could do without less than subtle prods from my subconscious.
Managed to avoid buying laundry pods yesterday, so bagged a 4th NSD. 4/15 so far.0 -

Oh I'd love to be a teddy bear. Asda are selling giant ones (5ft) just now and I'm tempted to get me (erm the kids) one for Christmas.
SFD yesterday. Today I'll pick up Asda so it won't be. Tomorrow won't be either as that is my second spend day of the week when we go to home bargains etc for household items like toilet roll, toothpaste etc. Also need to get some no-more-nails to finish the front door surround (so it looks at least finished till we replace that door yet again next year).
have a nice day
EDIT. ASDA substituted the duck for two chickens, not the same bird! So they'll go back. Like the other day I wanted ribs (very specific cut) and they gave me pork loin. Oh well, need to go to other shops on Sat anyway and will get a duck then.DEBT 02/25: total £6100 Debt free date 12/250 -
My second job was a huge leap up in responsibility and money. And I deliberately decided to make one splurge purchase. I bought a big teddy, shaped like a grizzly. I chatted to him all the time. I still have him, forty years later. I *am* a teddy bear2023: the year I get to buy a car0

Quietish day here today but I did get some small things done. I find that it is sometimes the small things I put off because I'm a bit nervous about doing them. I hate making phone calls, doing things like banking on the computer because I'm afraid of making mistakes. I would really prefer to speak to someone face to face but that is getting less and less easy these days.. However, I made a few phone calls and sent a few emails today.
Himself is picking up slowly so I've made a sort of a meal plan for next week. Written down some things we can have using what's in the freezer (apart from Sunday lunch when the Boy comes for his roast dinner). I'll wait to see how he's feeling each day before deciding what to have. On the plus side he hasn't been drinking at all, says he's going to join me for a sober November (mostly) and has plans for drinking much less when we're on holiday at the beginning of December. I'm really glad that he seems to be taking what the doctor said to him seriously.
We've both been reading lots and going to bed really early. He used to stay up till all hours and then not sleep properly. Seemed to be constantly tired but I think the vitamin deficiency that they've just diagnosed might play a part in that.
So all in all things are ticking along nicely. Just need to get the motivation to have a really good declutter.Have adventures. laugh a lot and always be kind.0 -
Thank you for the kind words.
NSD today - 7/20.
Went for walk in park. Talked to a couple of people, 2 I knew, 1 did not know.
Think I have done most of the packing for my mini break. Only the toiletries to be done in the morning.
Used up some food today as they will not last until I come back. Will be using up the last of them before I leave for my overnight stay at a hotel near the airport. Did get a discount for the booking. My flight is at 7.15am on Sunday morning.
Did self care and no computer games.
Did a couple of surveys and entered a few competitions.Frugal Living Challenge 2025 Mortgage free as of 1st August 20130
