    NSDs - 5
ORGANISE - lists written, plan made, inventory/mealplan/shopping list
ENJOY yourself - fallen into a very enjoyable total tat-fest book.
MAKE - inventorized to within an inch of sanity
BUDGETS - figured out what went wrong with the credit card. I paid a mortgage overpayment to the cc rather than to the mortgage account. D'oh! So, child benefit will go straight to mortgage overpayment instead. Sometimes online can go wrong too. User error.
EXERCISE - speed cleaning. 4 bedrooms cleaned, hoovered, 2 loos and 1 bathroom cleaned, stairs (3 flights) hoovered, 2 double beds stripped and remade, laundry bins filled and bumped down 3 flights of stairs, living room tidied, sofas pulled out, all hoovered, all cups and crockery back to kitchen, and made a cup of tea and sat down in 59 minutes, It was a workout plus the house was shiny at the end of it.
RULES - do or do not, there is no try

IN case - think I am sorted
NOW is always the right time to start. - ok

NO takeaways,- will sit on DH if he even suggests one.
EVERYONE should know their debt free date. 2037 according to those mortgage people. (pah! fools!)
WINTER proof your home,- working on it.

YOU should cook from scratch - I do,
OUTSIDE-baby it's cold outside, But it is winter, so it should be- last Xcountry of the year over. Have decided to rob one of the planned 'class teacher' gift candles for the Xcountry teacher. She is a star. She was a star in a thick coat and hat while our kids were in shorts and tshirts. That is the coldest windiest field in the history of cross country I am certain. Still, 2 hours stood in a field kept me away from the fridge for 2 hours.
    REPORT - daily!
KINDNESS - found YS 'feminine hygene products' for 13p a box. Bought 20 boxes, peeled off the YS and donated to foodbank - did the same with toothpaste last month.

Right, need to get kids ready for ping pong.

Wow f0xh0les, it would take me all weekend to get done what you did in 59 minutes  Except the making tea and sitting down, I could do that several times in 59 minutes ;) Please send some of your motivation this way :)

  • Thank you Mothernerd for the inspo, I definitely have what feels like a huge elephant which is improving my Spanish. I am going to set myself some mini-challenges for this, I hope you all don’t mind me posting them here for accountability.

    NSD I am on 4/20.

ORGANISE Next week will be very busy so need to plan accordingly.

VALUES Have had some ideas about where I actually want to end up doing with my life and a potential plan is forming. Some puzzle pieces are starting to drop into place.

ENJOY yourself. Had a very frugal but lovely weekend so far. BF and I went to Aranjuez, a little town outside Madrid, walked in the gardens looking at the beautiful colours of the trees and managed 2 beers in the sun before we got too cold. Then we went home and visited a Pupuseria (pupusas are a sort of filled tortilla from El Salvador) we only had water to drink and the bill came to only €13. Very pleased with that as we were both more than stuffed and had to take food home with us. Total spend of that outing was €18.

    MAKE Done.

BUDGETS Although no debt paid off yet, this has ended up being a v. frugal month for me and managing to squirrel some money away this month for christmas / dental treatment which I’m very happy about,

EXERCISE Had a good walk around yesterday. Will try to do a workout tomorrow.

    RULES Mostly ok!

IN case of emergency Bought some boots from the charity shop today for €10, hope they’re waterproof, will test later.

Stock up with generic painkillers, cold and flu meds - just as effective as the expensive ones (MSE tested). Will do

NOW Going to plan my mini-challenges today (bites of the elephant) and will post here.

NO Had the pupusas yesterday but they were such good value!!

  • Afternoon,

I'm up to 5/15 NSDs so far this month. The week has been a mixed bag spending wise and I've bought some things I wanted, rather then needed.

Today has been a spend day. The boy wanted to bake some cakes to sell at school for children in need.. a trip to the supermarket, £15 lighter and 42 cakes later... we are done! I bought a couple of Christmas presents which totalled to £7- more token gifts then anything.

The boy has show rehearsals tonight. I'm about to go make him a packed lunch for him to take as he will be there quite late. Whilst he is there, I'm just going to chill out and have some me time.

Tomorrow, I'm working all day... boo!! Roll on December for some annual leave. I just want a break at the moment.

    Happy Saturday everyone.
    Chandelier.

Did the Park Run. Walked the 5k in 49 minutes and 40 seconds.
Sorted out a few things in the flat before I left to go to the hotel overnight stay. Brought a few things with me to eat tonight and tomorrow morning.
Just chilling out in the hotel room.
Was a spend day as had to pay for the eco friendly pod from airport to hotel. Paid for tomorrow morning back to the airport.

Thanks for reminding me about frogs and elephants, Mothernerd. It makes sense to tackle frogs head on and not spend time worrying about them. I must phone the council on Monday about something I've been putting off for ages. As for elephants - I need to get into a daily/weekly routine and add another little/biggish job every day.

I would love to be able to recycle more. I live in a block of maisonettes. Each house has a a normal bin and one for cardboard, plastic, etc (but not glass ????) which are kept in a communal bin store. I really try but our recycling bin is regularly filled with bags of other people's normal rubbish. I've resorted to putting a brick on top of it to stop them. It seems that they are just too lazy to walk past mine and use their own normal rubbish bin.

So today we walked to the shops. A little bit of fresh air was nice. We needed some beef and veg for tomorrow's dinner and amazingly, considering Himself was with me, we stuck to what was on the list. No extras. That must be a first. It's all been added to my spending diary.

I have to confess to having two fig rolls with my afternoon cuppa this afternoon. I'm really trying to stop snacking.

    Have a nice weekend.
Have adventures. laugh a lot and always be kind.
