I'm proud to say that all 3 DSs would have got the Star Trek reference and 'Live long and Prosper' was the conclusion of the best man's (a woman) speech at DS1's wedding. DS1 also made reference in his wedding vows to alien invasion, zombie apocalypse and nuclear war (they did personal vows after the formal bit).

No further NSD's today unfortunately. Shopping delivery came, I also had to top up my car with petrol as I've driven up to my parent's house, and I had a routine check up at the dentist as well. All planned spends which is fine. Should have a NSD tomorrow hopefully, just chilling with the family. Have had a headache and neck/shoulder ache all day so hoping that goes overnight.

Just a little check in, Still haven't caught up with all the posts as work has been crazy. NSD 2/20 yesterday.

Mothernerd you have given me a lot to think about with the "Values" part of this challenge! It has sparked some thoughts in me which last week seemed a bit of an existential crisis and now seems like an opportunity...

Made an impromptu banana cake yesterday with ones that needed using up - very MSE heh!
Afterwards while washing up I had a bit of a moment, my housemates were so happy to snuggle on the sofa eating this unexpected (and allegedly delicious) cake and it really really made me very happy. simple pleasures eh

This thread has nothing to do with New York, You might wanna change the title as I wasted 5 minutes here.

Of course it's not about New York just as it isn't about Ninjas :p:rotfl:

    Good morning.

Off to a better start today. Got the refund for or damaged front door and am now only £500 away from debt freedom.

Also went to bed early yesterday and up early to do my usual me time/coffee in peace/getting organized morning. Did nothing but a bit of homework with DS yesterday. Just strangely knackered. Luckily we had pizza in the freezer for Friday (swapped dinner plan round) and we avoided take away as I do couldn't be bothered to cook.

The weather is horrendous but it shall be a fab day

  • Morning,
Went out with purse and BF yesterday and ended up buying groceries unplanned. Still, nothing too frivolous and no takeaway last night which was a distinct possibilty otherwise.
Today I want to slash my many many lists of things to do and get back to basics.
    Have a good day folks!

Dolly84 - not even Farscape? or Battlestar Galactica?

Mind you I feel the same way about soaps, takes all sorts.

Loved bbc2s latest offering last night - I'll get this. Had a good laugh at that, after the football (we won!)

Today is Divali Day, so there should be the last of the fireworks - might take the kids down the Golden Mile and have a watch. All free. Good fun, parking will be horrific though. Will check weather forecast and decide later.

Also might go to a jobs fair. Just to have a look see.

Will be back later to discuss our views on Terrariums, fresh vs salt water habitats, the best sandals for ninja sneaking, the Knicks vs the Yankees , and best fairy lights for strangling your enemies.

  • Morning,

I've been a bit AWOL lately. Life has been busy and I'm plodding on through.

The good news is I've managed to have 4/15 NSDs so far, which I'm happy with. I did surprisingly well considering it was half term.

Today will be a spend day as it's my next dental appt where I will find out final prices for my treatment plan. I'm also going to nip to town to get some photos copied and reprinted to go towards Christmas presents. I've bought some nice photo frames and will be gifting these to the boys dad and grandparents. I'm sure they'll love it. I'm also going to buy some nicotine patches in hope that I can stop smoking. If I do it all in one go today, it is less to do other days.

Tomorrow, I may be going out for tea with a friend for a catch up. I'll use funds from my entertainment budget to cover this. It may possibly end up a weekly/fortnight thing, so I need to monitor this.

I've also enquired about a local evening plastering course which I'm interested in doing next year. I'm going to liase with my manager at work so I can get the time off for this. The course only costs £300 and I'll use my savings to fund this.

All my bank accounts are up to date and budgets are being stuck to. I'm hoping this will mostly be a quiet month. I'm trying to do everything spend wise all in a couple of days where possible. It just makes things easier.

    Things I need to do:

    - Get final dental treatment quote.
    - Nip to town.
    - Get photos copied and printed.
    - Buy nicotine patches.
    - Attend open afternoon at boys school.
    - Take boy to ice skating.
    - Pay football skills fee and set up standing order.
    - Book a table for meal tomorrow.

That should keep me busy for now.
    Chandelier.
    Current Debt Repaid:
    £104/£619.

    Check out my Diary

mothernerd - not even Doctor Who, I just don't see the appeal, it all seems rather dull, like the same storyline on repeat.

f0xh0les - no and no, never even heard of Farscape. I don't like soaps either and can generally take or leave tv, I do like a good atmospheric, gothic horror but can live without the rest.

Day off today and it is raining so I will be catching up with cleaning, making a veggie chilli to make haystacks for tea, walking the dog, checking the bank and doing a couple of other admin jobs.
