... I'm a bit concerned.

A non defamatory and evidenced thread re the above subject matter was posted yesterday on this MSE sub-forum and had some good constructive feedback and ongoing debate.

Then out of the blue the thread is summarily deleted without good reason or explanation, and without me being notified by either for example a pvt message on this (normally good and open) forum or via a message and/or explanation being sent to my registered email address.

Is there some form of censorship going on here by certain moderators ?

If a thread is - as it was - is not defamatory, not racist, or not objectionable or not malicious - then how and why would it be deleted? Is freedom of speech suddenly being somewhat curtailed on the forum ?

Don't wish to stir up a hornet's nest here or start up some perverse conspiracy theory; just intrigued and surprised that's all.

If this thread is deleted we may surely be entitled to become concerned that there may be something rather sinister going on.

If the original thread was taken down by mistake then would a moderator kindly re-instate it.

Yes, the Jew/Freemason/lizard creatures/aliens/bankers/industrial military complex underground that runs the world keeps a close eye on threads here as they know you know the truth they don't want revealing.

    The truth is out there!

Hi there! We’ve had to remove your signature. It was so good we removed it because we cannot think of one so good as you had and need to protect others from seeing such a great signature.

Thank you for your comment Custardy, namely "Im confused why you didnt post this in the site feedback section................. "

I did not even know there was such a sub-forum. I've just seen the site feedback sub-forum, and it's far less trafficked.

Anyhow, the thread in question was deleted without I believe good reason, and possibly by mistake, on this particular forum and therefore I would, if it's OK by you Custardy, prefer to have my legitimate query responded to on here.

Only a moderator can presumably delete a thread, whether by accident or otherwise, so surely a moderator can be kind enough to offer a legitimate explanation on this sub-forum as to how the thread was mysteriously deleted.

There is no right to freedom of speech in the UK.

Why do you think it would exist on this forum?

    I am assuming.
    If threads get complaints.
The mods delete the whole lot in 1 go as its quick and easy to do.
From there point of view they do not get paid (if they do get paid) any more by taking 20 minutes to remove a few posts.

While its easy to blame mods. I think its posters who draw attention to it with the report button.

As for censorship - there is a 50% chance this post will get locked/deleted as well.

I spent ages formulating a reply and when I posted it the thread was invalid!

    No idea why though.
  • I am half jewish myself Lionhead and therefore I cannot on balance subscribe to the views you have put forward as per your post above.

Nonetheless we live in a free society and you are entitled to your opinion and I sincerely hope that your post, or this entire thread, is not deleted merely because some MSE members, or moderators, may disagree with what you say.

Above all, I trust all MSE members would agree that freedom of speech must win the day.

Thread reporting - this is not a post about any specific thread.

Who on here is proud they report threads?
what do you think that thread is better locked or deleted?

Conversely - who never reports threads no matter what the subject is? Why do you think this is better than censorship? Is there anything you would ever report?

With respect Stephen that's not a valid reason and/or explanation or excuse. Would a moderator kindly explain how all this came about, and ideally reinstate the original thread and ideally make a 'voluntary' apology.

    Thank you.
  • I have never reported a person or a thread. They get deleted because they take up too many resources once they are brought to the attention of the mods. I doubt the mods read them before deleting.
