patrons only PCN

Hi there. I apologise if this is covered elsewhere. I have spent some hours in this forum trying to understand the procedures.
Most of the PCNs covered in the guides seem to be cases where a ticket has not been paid or someone has overstayed their free period. A vehicle for which I am the registered keeper has received a PCN in the situation where some not very obvious signs said that the spaces were for patrons of one particular shop only. And that anyone else parking there would be liable for a parking charge of £100.
Is the procedure in this situation the same?
Sorry if this is a dumb question.

Have you done anything yet?
If not, send the blue text appeal found in post #1 of the NEWBIES FAQ sticky thread.
Send it unchanged - no alterations or additions necessary.
Send it as the keeper.1 -
Thanks for such swift replies. The PPC is Premier Parking Logistics. Happened in the West Midlands. I have read the newbies thread - but got a bit confused as I dug further around this and other sites. So I appreciate the reassurance. I will send the text appeal as suggested.0

Strictly speaking, this is a matter of trespass which can only be pursued by the landholder. There was no offer to allow you to park if you weren't using the shop, and therefore no contract could have been formed.
Doesn't alter what you do at this stage - initial appeal. It may come into use later.2 -
As per above, you have "forbidding signage" therefore there can be NO contractual arrangement. But keep your powder dry for now.2

Just for a bit of clarity, so that we know where things are, did you visit the shop, or attempt to visit the shop irrespective of weather you made a purchase or notFrom the Plain Language Commission:

I didn't visit the shop. I visited the bank next door. There was no one else in there so I was in and out in less than 5 minutes. There was no obvious distinction between the parking spaces in front of the other shop and the couple in front of the bank.0

So my initial 'appeal' has been unsuccessful. They've offered the opportunity to appeal to the IAS. Am I right in thinking there is no point in doing that and the trick is to sit tight now? Feels scary for an activist :-)0

Do not appeal to the IAS - you have very little prospect of a successful outcome. Sit tight.
This is who you're up against (a bit of background reading):

No evidence of pursuing anyone through the courts. But they do have 6 years in which to do so.
