Your model is X555LD. You also need to actually check the screen to make sure you are getting the correct one. Possible examples;

.............................How does an 'idiot' like me do that???0 -
I'll have to ask again .....
.............................
Look at the screen replacement video and follow it to the point wherein you can see which screen is fitted.
Once you can see if it has an inverter and can check exactly which model of screen that is fitted, you can place an order if appropriate.0 -

Me:
The screen flickers constantly on battery, but works fine with an external monitor.
Several days with google has revealed this to be regular problem
Maybe if you could supply a replacement screen, and I could fit it, that would be good
Them:
Kindly be advised that Asus does not sell parts to customers, we can only offer you an out of warranty repair for the unit.
With the below link you can see if a replacement screen is available for your model:

Me:
As I said originally, this is obviously an inherent problem with this model not just experienced by myself. As a consequence, you really ought to offer to help me rectify the issue.
Simply typing Asus X555LD sc into google auto-completes to 'screen flickering'

I looked at the link you pointed me to, but it gave seven options ... which do I need?

Them:
Please note that you purchased a refurbished unit with no service from Asus.
We can only offer you an out of warranty repair for the unit.
This is the screen you can look for: 15.6" 16:9 HD (1366x768).
Our apologies for the inconveniences caused to you.

Indeed, I imagined eBay/refurb would be their escape clause.
Either way, if you want to go forward with the issue, you'll need to check what screen you have fitted currently.
I would probe them to confirm that the screen is indeed the issue.0 -

But then they would maybe be admitting that there is a fault, which of course, they won't!!0
