Evening all
I've speed read the thread, so congratulations, condolences, comiserations & hugs as appropriate.
After all the scarves I knitted, I've just found a new green wool & have orders for 6 of those.
We had no heating at work all day, so I'm absolutely shrammed. I'm going to wrap up in a quilt & carry on knitting.
Hugs Hester

Hi All
Yes, well the usual lame excuses. I have read all your posts and now I am home from work I am so tired the brain has gone dead.
However, I do know we have another new little'un on the way, folk have dental and health problems, we have dear friends passing away and we have belated birthday or today children's birthdays. Sorry to hear if distressed pets - our hamster is in his wheel tonight (unusual at this time) and there are loads of bangs going on. Also sorry to hear about tick bites. Hope australian B is relieved tomorrow.
I have only had 2 cookers in almost 36 years - one was a present from the office in 1971 when we got married and the other about 4 years ago. The second is a fan oven and I still haven't got cooking times right! When I do my kitchen next year I am going to have to research cookers as I want the right one!
Sorry if I haven't mentioned anyone personally but I do care.

Evening everybody :hello:
CONGRATULATIONS lilmisskitkat!
Had a really good night's sleep last night so gradually starting to recover from the mad couple of weeks I've had. Adrenalin is helping, too - I'm still on a high from all the fab things I went to see, and all the friends I caught up with
Yesterday I went out in search of my local Sainsbury's (hadn't shopped at that branch before) to stock up on wine while they still had their 25% off deal on - I had NO wine in the flat  and money in the budget for it. So now I have a well stocked rack (oo er missus) again. The Sainsbury's is a good'un as well, it's got a clothing dept. It's a 25 minute walk with the wally trolley (as opposed to 20 mins for Tesco or Asda) and it caters for a nice area so it's got a better range of some things.
Phoned Tesco Clubcard today to have a moan about the fact that they haven't sent me any mailings since April! I've built up quite a few points too. They seemed to have messed up my address on their system (dunno how - I've had mailings since they've had my current address) and they said I'll start getting my Clubcard vouchers and wine mailings again within the next couple of weeks :j
I'm having a nice quiet week
Hugs to all

evening!
Have finally finished my long weekend at work - 31 hours:eek:2 days off now!:j
DH is not too well, his sciatica/bad back is causing him a lot of grief and he's off to the docs in the morning - only ever goes there as a last resort so I expect he will be off for a while now.
DS1 has started with his new company, he's got to drive 23 miles to get there in busy traffic so was a bit worried but he txt me when he got there to put my mind at rest. He was all dressed up in a suit etc - very smart he looked !(proud mum alert!) His job is in radio production.
Might have to go to the dentist in the morning as have been suffering with toothache for a few weeks but have been putting it off:rolleyes: but its not going away!
I'm off for a scan of the thread now, hope you're all ok!
take care xxDo what you love :happyhear0 -
Hi guys,
I wonder if you can help. Have cooked a chilli con carne - and its too hot!! (Too much spices)
Is there anything I can put in it to cool it down a bit?
I know yoghurt helps, but can it be added to the meal rather than as a side-dish?
Sorry if this isnt really the place to ask, but couldnt think who else to ask.

I think somone advised putting a couple of raw potatoes in it - heating it up till the potato was cooked and then removing the potatoes.
Someone else suggested coconut milk being added.
There was a thread called "spicy curry" or something similar and it got loads of answers.
Sorry not to be more help."This site is addictive!"
