It makes a change & compared the previous wk end, we only made £2.30 profit. We stood in a different field, so I think that made the difference.Hi, we’ve had to remove your signature. If you’re not sure why please read the forum rules or email the forum team if you’re still unsure0 -
Morning all!
At odds this morning as there was another powercut chez luxor last night and all the alarm clocks didn't work. No idea what is causing it
DS1 only made it to his 7.25 bus because OM drove him into town, usually he has to walk the 1.5 miles as the local buses don't start before 8 am
DS2 did get his paper round done before school, thank goodness - I didn't fancy trying to finish it for him, I can't fold the papers
GP later this morning so shall potter round doing my jobs while the WM does the hard work. Found a great RA site yesterday with one of those 'letters to my family: things you need to know'. It was almost like it was written for me, so shall print it out to keep reminding myself that I am not idle, lazy or weak but learning to manage a painful and debilitating condition.
I have started to keep a spending diary this month to see how I can tweak my budget. It does work well  I was surprised how much Saturday cost - but I was in town for the first time for weeks.
Crazychik inspired by your e-baying, I shall carry on listing!
Mioliere our staff at work do this each year instead of gifts and cards, it is so sensible! last year we raised enough for a cow, some latrines and chickens. Thank you for reminding us all.
Off to sort out the WM as it is making odd noises.

Good morning all! It's a lovely sunny *crisp* (euphemism for blooming chilly!) morning in London.:D I do love Autumn when it's like this, not so keen when it's damp, misty days.
Well so far I've been to the gym, (hold on a mo while I shine my halo:rotfl: ) and now I'm sat here with a steaming mug of coffee doing what I do best ie [strike]wasting[/strike] spending quality time on the computer catching up with you lot:D If I squint I can't see the dustwebs, and if I squint harder I can't see the mess so that's OK.
dlb, yes you'll need to reduce the temp and timings for a fan oven. It'll be a case of keeping a close eye on things until you get used to it. I have to say I'm not entirely convinced by it. I used to love my gas oven, really liked the way it had heat zones, which meant you could cook a wide variety of things together. But the electric fan oven is terrific for batch cooking of cakes etc.
anniebooklover, what you say about the chap who died is so true. My SIL did everything *right*, was not in any risk group they keep coming up with ( smoker, overweight, drinker etc etc) but still got breast cancer, which spread to her liver and she died at 47 leaving three children. You just never know.
Amanda, I watched the end of "Ghost". I love that film:D I have it on DVD and no matter how often I see it, I always cry.:o I may be old-fashioned, but I love that it's a *moral* film where the baddie gets his just deserts!
My coffee's drained now, so I suppose I should show willing and do something, but maybe I'll just linger here a little longer.
Haven't got a clue what we're eating tonight, but I can tell you it must be lurking in the freezer, because I am not going shopping today:rotfl:
Hope you have good days, and (((hugs))) to the poorly ones.
CMxx
mrs mix congratulations on your win! Am I losing my marbles, because I can't see where you announced it?You never get a second chance to make a first impression.0 -
Hi everyone
Been quite busy this last month. Went to the States for a week and loved it. Found it difficult adjusting to being back and the darker days.
Trying to find meals that you can give someone with a dodgy tummy.
Should be a nice evening later to watch fireworks.
Crazychick - your cat avatar looks just like my son's cat - so rare to see a cat with one white and one black ear:)An average day in my life:hello: :mad: :coffee::coffee::coffee::T:rotfl: :rotfl:
:eek::mad: :beer:
I am no expert in property but have lived in many types of homes, in many locations and can only talk from experience.0 -
Very quiet this morning and washing has just been hung out on the line outside.
Have defrosted chicken breasts which I might make tonight unless I decide on veggie cottage pie instead.
Still have some pea and ham soup in the fridge that DH will probably scoff for lunch.
DD(13) has a dentist's appointment this afternoon and may have to have a couple of teeth out ready for a dental brace later. If she does then will have to stock up on stuff like pasta, noodles and soup that are easier to eat for her.
Someone on one of the boards has mentioned a site called "free rice"
- you are given a word and four choices as to what it means - for every right answer - ten grains of rice are donated to hungry people. I tried this yesterday and got hooked on trying to improve my level.
Going to get a hot cup of coffee - hugs to everyone."This site is addictive!"
Wooligan 2 squares for smoky - 3 squares for HTA
Preemie hats - 2.0 -
