    Hello all,

Haven't had much to post in the last couple of days.
Have been tidying/sorting a little bit at a time
Been doing some Ebay listings today, along with a couple of loads of washing, the washing up etc.

OHs boss just phoned wanting to know when hes coming back to work. His exact words 'I'm paying him £500 a month to do nothing', so thats not a good sign. I hope he goes back soon - he says he wants to, and recently he has felt a lot better - I know this sounds silly, but when he gets out of bed in the morning he used to do a funny little dance, and he did it again today for about the first time in 3 months, so I thought that was a really good sign.

Should be going to some fireworks tonight - was going to go to the Tar Barrels in Ottery, but then I fouind out that the fireworks were on Saturday, so not sure if I can be bothered going now. Would rather see fireworks than people running through the streets with flaming tar barrels TBH!

    Have a good one

    Congratulations to Lilmisskitkat.

Mrs Flittersnoop - so sorry to hear about your friend.

Well had a slight change of plan today & have done nothing that I was meant to. We have decided to make our living room a little nicer till we can afford to do it properly and had to go out to look at some furniture - came back home to measure and will pop out again when dd back home to pick it up.

The furniture shop is right next to the Golden Arches so will be a bad ostyler today as that is what the kids will be having for dinner.

Never mind will be extra good tomorrow instead!

Hope you all have a lovely evening.

Hello all. Used to be quite a regular poster here but then lost my way a bit...

However, am back now and determined to get back to OS as I found it a lot easier to do day-to-day stuff, bizarrely... :)

Haven't made bread in a while, so think I'll do some this afternoon. Have already made a bath of sausage rolls for OH's packups this week and tonight's dinner is curried cous-cous with salmon & salad.

Am just getting over a cold so am very tired...although not so tired as those who are up at 3am doing the Virgin competitions! :D:D

I click on the hunger site every day too - they also have a breast exam, literacy and save rainforest area on the top of the page so i have started clicking these too.

For anyone who wants to try

just "google" free rice - and the site should come up. Basically every correct answer gives ten grains of rice through a charity. Well worth doing, educational and fun trying to improve your score.
My 13 year old wants to start doing this.

Just going to dentist to see if she is getting teeth out today.

    Hugs and see you later.

  • Afternoon everyone

It's DD's birthday today, and I'm tired having stayed up late last night to make her birthday cake - a pink piggy moneybox :D She's been spoiled, but we went out on Saturday for her birthday - so tonight it's just her favourite tea (spaghetti carbonara) and birthday cake.

Need to do some ironing and I must finish some more of my Santa off.

Think I might make a quiche and some flapjacks for lunches this week, just about to google some nice rice recipes to have cold with the quiche.

Congratulations little miss kit kat :T

    (((((hugs))))) all round
Squares knitted for my throw ~ 90 (yes!!! I have finally finished it :rotfl: )
Squares made for my patchwork quilt ~ 80 (only the "actual" quilting to do now :rotfl:)

    Afternoon all

Not had time to read the thread so hugs to anyone in need today.

Feeling shattered, we moved so much stuff over the weekend - move officially on Friday so we're down to the bare essentials here for now.....typically this is the time that DD1 decided to come down with a sickness bug - wasn't easy with no spare bedding/towels and she managed to throw up all over my kingsize duvet - didn't even bother trying to clean it - was cheaper to buy a new cheap one from sainsburys. Just hoping the other DD doesn't come down with it now - loads of people round here seem to have it.

I'm up to date with the ironing, got a lasagne that DH made on Saturday, waiting to go in the oven in a bit and then someones coming to pick up a desk from freecycle. Think I might treat myself to a hot bath and an early night, maybe even a glass of something relaxing.

Hope you all have a great evening.

    Hi everyone

Congratulations to Littlemisskitcat ! A very exciting time ahead for you!

Well we've had a busy weekend as DD1 was 11 on Saturday so we went bowling and we've discovered that DD2 who is only 6 is a real natural at it!:rotfl: We also went for a lovlely meal and we had a takeaway meal from KFC :o so we're back to lots of healthy food this week starting with ham/veg bol and pasta followed by lots of fruit for tonight's tea.

I've spent today helping to set up our warehouse for the xmas shoeboxes (Samaritan's Purse) and I'm aching from top to toe! Just in case anyone has heard any incorrect/nasty rumours about religious material, leaflets etc being put into the shoeboxes then I can assure that is not the case. In fact, we even have to take out any xmas cards showing religious images etc. All we do is check each donated shoebox, remove any unsuitable items eg out of date sweets, war toys, liquids. Sometimes we add items if they are missing eg soap, cuddly toy etc, remove cheques/donations and then seal each box up ready for the trucks to take them to their destination.
Last year we dispatched 22,000 of these boxes to very needy kids all over the world. One of my friends went with the shoeboxes last year and I cried when I saw the phots she had taken of the children that had received the boxes. Sorry I'll stop going on now!

Hurray we've bought fireworks for the first time as we've decided to avoid the huge organised display in our local park. It wasn't very well organised last year and we had a job getting out of the park after it had finished...it was a bit like The Blairwitch Project!

    Have a great (safe) evening!

    Afternoon all,

Can't believe that it is 16.40 or that it is so dark already...has been a dull, misty day here so not feeling too cheerful, woke up with a buzzing type of sound in my head, didn't sleep well as I was feeling agitated the whole night, no reason, think that it is just coming down from anti dep tablets, haven't told anyone here so maybe the fact that I can't moan aloud is really what is wrong!

Congratulation Lilmisskitkat, wonderful news, just take care of you, the tiredness of early pregnancy is like no other IMHO.

Belated birthday wishes to Jannyannie...have another cake! :bdaycake:

Good on you Scuzz...life is for living, not hanging round waiting for the living to start! Wish I knew that when I was your age!

PenPin.....hope that you are feeling better by now...hugs

Pink...Congratulations on your 8000 posts, hope that you have talked to doc about your cough.

Snowy....what are you on about girl...are unexpected visitors not meant to strike terror in your heart??

dlb....have had a fan oven for over 30 years and wouldn't have anything else, always felt that the notion that different areas of the oven being at different temperatures was way beyond my capacity, but then I have never had a gas oven either so would steer clear of one for the reason that I would find it too difficult to get used to....not a valid excuse for any of you youngsters!

    Mrs Mix...congratulations on your win.

    Mrs Flittersnoop...condolences

Patentgirl....six of my seven moved by degrees ( that sounds quite clever when I see it written down...accidental) when they went to college, so I just felt that they were away for a while, still surprises me when I realise that DD4(26) is the only one left...DGS2 (5) lives here too, so I suppose I still have little one around. Each leaves their own gap but I feel so overjoyed when they come back to visit that it is worth it, and I think that as a parent it is only when they move out that we start thinking of them as adults...or maybe that's the Irish Mammy Syndrome!

Hugs to anyone in need whom I have accidentally ignored and hugs to all who are not posting at present for whatever reason
