    Does it look alright? Is there anyone else I can try to source the same system from?
    I can't comment on current prices as we had our system for a long time now.  We purchased ours from Kevin Goody at UK Water Softeners and, assuming that is not who you got the quote from anyway, I am sure they would cover your area.  We always found the service satisfactory, though they do operate in a rather quaint way like stepping back in time.
  • I wouldn’t bother going with Harvey’s. Better to go and get the Twintec version which is essentially the exact same machine rebranded. I saved around £400 doing that. The new machine is also a gimmick with the Wi-Fi. You can easily check how much salt is remaining without needing a Wi-Fi link to your phone.

    Apologies, I should have said that the quote was from Harveys directly! The TwinTec on the UK Water Softeners website looks exactly the same as the unit the guy from Harveys brought over today so I'll give them a shout, thanks!

    I just noticed that the TwinTec unit looks exactly the same. I really don't care for IoT devices most of the time and £400 buys us a nice weekend away. I'll look around for more suppliers of the TwinTec unit, thanks.

    EDIT: UK Water Softeners are coming out on Wednesday to provide a quote. I'll post another update to show what they cost in comparison with Harveys.

    Following on from my last post, UK Water Softeners came over today to show us the TwinTec Cobalt (Harvey Arc), TwinTec S4 (Harvey Arc without the IoT functionality) and the Kinetico Premier Compact.

    We're fairly sold on their TwinTec S4 unit as the Kinetico didn't really offer many advantages since we don't have a gravity fed system and it was a bit bigger. The S4 also uses normal salt blocks instead of the curved ones which the lady said were cheaper in places like Costco.

    TwinTec S4 = £1596
    TwinTec Cobalt = £1696
    Kinetico = £1646

    They said they would include the £50 water filter for free, and all of the units include a separate filtered water tap and installation.

    EDIT: We're having the TwinTec S4 fitted.
