    Crazy Cat Lady - Hugs to you and Determined new ms. Anxiety sucks

    Ended up staying up all night and just had a cheeky wee hour on the couch - nightshift has well and truly messed up my body clock! I haven’t stopped all day but don’t really feel I’ve gotten much done. Working tonight but hoping it’s quiet so I can get Ebaying and writing these letters.
    Also managed to:
    1. Also set up a standing order to my dad as my car payment comes out of his account. Usually I go into my account and transfer the money over every month (usually late!). Don’t know why I haven’t set up a standing order before.
    2. Accidently transferred £55 to my mum so had to text her and politely ask for it back
    3. Deleted lots of all payment details off my online banking to people I won’t be paying again

    I find sorting out my account after pay day sooo super stressful. Next month I’d like to be organised so everything is setup in advance of payday (I can dream, right?!). Hope everyone’s having a lovely weekend. OH has been amazing helping me sort stuff out at the old flat. 3 weeks until I hand the keys back and then he’s stuck with me for good! He's currently hoovering the house (with his top off :happyhear) while I have my feet up :rotfl: Suppose I should get up and make tea now.

    xx

  • Thanks DNMS and daydreams - I do feel a lot better after seeing my bestie - think I just need a bit of adult company every now and again... more regularly than usual at the moment. Keep trying to remind myself that I'm going through a major life event at the moment and there will be good days and bad. Bestie wants to hit the shops tomorrow, and I've said yes but have no money to spend at all. So we'll see how that goes :D

    Morning Sunday Savers,
    Yesterday was v stressful - at the hospital most of the day - & I really need to do 'normal' stuff today.
    *Water veg.
    *Check to see if any sweetcorn is ripe yet.
    *Make batch of brown sauce using our windfall apples & recycled jars. Mr f always helps me with this so we'll put some music on & try to de-stress a bit.
    *Sort massive post-camping pile of clean laundry to remove & put away everything that doesn't need ironing (hopefully most of it).
    *Make apple sauce.
    *Possibly make watercress soup with the last of our crop.
    *Make tomorrow's packed lunch.
    *Synchronise diaries & write tomorrow's job list.
    *Cast on my 2nd handwarmer - gifted yarn.
    *Several ongoing 'Use'it-ups'.
    *Dry cat's blanket outside on the line for free.
    That will do for today, in my attempt to feel normal after yesterday.
    Love to all,
    F x

    Hi September Savers,

    Morning!:coffee:My Holiday At Home continues. :T

    Today we're still packing for our holiday in a week's time and enjoying free events at a very local festival. Hate packing.

    Debt-Free-Nillionaire Continuity Plan Year Four:

    * Check online banking. Done.

    * Take medication. Done.

    * Turn alarm clock off at the wall til tonight. Done.

    * Get some exercise.

    * Try and finish packing. More or less done. Lots of money-saving things in the case: laundry detergent, library guidebook, books to read, "emergency" medications. Borrowed a bag from DW to use as cabin baggage.

    * Lunch is burgers and baps from the freezer, rather than £6(!) burgers from the festival. Done.

    * Declutter laptop. Done.

    * Free Red Devils display this afternoon if the weather holds, a two minute walk from our home. Please, Great Smurf, let the weather hold. I really want to see this event. Yay! It went ahead.

    * I have broken a second pair of headphones this week. See if we have a cheap pair lying around home. Found a pair. I'm not buying anymore expensive ones they don't last me 6 months.

    * Find out why my laptop speaker is louder on the right than the left. Fixed. Output slider was off centre.

    To be continued....

    Things don't have to be perfect to be wonderful.

    Agree that anxiety is awful. One of the worst things about it is that most of the things turned over & over in our minds & catastrophised don't actually happen. Others do happen, but are not as bad in reality as our anxiety has built them up to be. One of my key methods to avoid a return to the horrors of GAD (many years ago & medicated for a short while) is to tell myself firmly "I will deal with this when & IF it happens". It's not always easy to do, but endlessly running through every stressful possibility in our heads & building each one up to its worst possible outcome, is just exhausting. Being prepared is good, but continual replaying of scenarios (often with a bit more 'beating up of self') each time, is not. I think it's a good discipline to stop this by saying 'This isn't helping me at this moment. I will deal with it if it happens. What would actually help me now?' I know it's difficult (I've been there) but intervening in that escalating cascade of anxious thoughts is both possible & important.
    Love to all who are struggling.

    Morning folks

    Big hugs to all. I'm still catching up with the thread. Extra hugs to all those who are suffering with anxiety. I have suffered badly with anxiety and sometimes still do so I really feel for you.

    I have had the most lovely weekend. Not entirely frugal as did involve a brekkie out, a lunch out and a ordered pizza but I had such a nice time. OH and I did loads of foraging and preserving and just had a really fun time together. Had a couple of nice glasses of wine Fri night to congratulate ourselves too. I also finished my socks :)

    We also managed to get OH a nice thick waterproof winter Regatta coat for £60 from the designer outlet. This should last a few years so I think it was a good buy.

    I have also almost finished the Sunshine and showers CAL... watch this space. I may finish this evening.

    OH is doing tough mudder today. I am not jealous one tiny bit. Duck that! Not my idea of fun. Can't really see it being his either... this is a man who doesn't help in the garden because he doesn't like dirt on his hands!!!

    Today's mission:
    • B/L/D from stores. - done
    • Charge phone in work - done
    • Confirm 12 hours overtime - done
    • No overtime today (mse as I can think more clearly when not tired!) - done
    • Jar up the mincemeat
    • Finish blanket?!
    Have a good one all

    Hope you all have nice weekends, I’ve woke up feeling like I have a hangover - which I don’t!! Work was crazy yesterday so am putting it down to that.

    This happens to me when I overwork too. It sucks!
