What small DFW things will you do w/c 3rd September?

When we start out on the DFW trail we do loads of "big stuff" that makes quite a difference to our situation. These include having our lightbulb moment, cutting up the credit cards and cancelling Sky and the gym.
But once we have done the bigger stuff, we often feel that we are not making the same amount of progress, when in fact the small steps are helping us form good financial habits and helping us get closer everyday to staying in control and becoming debt free, or staying debt free.
Examples could be hanging washing out instead of using the tumble dryer or leaving your purse/wallet at home to avoid the risk of spending.
So be proud of those small steps, they really are important! :money:

[STRIKE]* all meals from stores[/STRIKE]
* take pictures of 2 things and list them on fleabay
[STRIKE]* pay off cc statement - oh finally paid up![/STRIKE]
*[STRIKE] get clothes/bags/lunches ready for school/work for the next few days[/STRIKE]
[STRIKE]* hem 2 skirts I took in yesterday[/STRIKE]
[STRIKE]* sew trim to bottom of autum (holey) jumper I got at a bootfair. It's cropped and I don't want it to be! [/STRIKE]
*[STRIKE] start taking in shirt dress I bought on fleabay[/STRIKE]

Morning all :hello:
Thanks for starting us off DNMS I remember my Nan lifting the pressure cooker off the stove, always looked like it weighed a tonne. I'll stick to the SC I think.
Hope back to work is ok cat you should really have a go at chutney and jams. I make my jam in the breadmaker, which I know is cheating, but it turns out lovely. I make lots of chutneys for gifts though and chilli jam is easy to make. Particularly if you can get the peppers and chillis cheap from somewhere like the market. Great recipe on bbc g00dfood for that. Can use normal chopped tomatoes to keep the cost down instead of tinned cherry toms.
Had a really productive day yesterday and hope that carries on for the rest of the month. Because of that we have a clean house, stuff for packed lunches (cooked chicken legs and sausage rolls) and 2 cakes and washing mainly up to date. Certainly makes the start of the week better.
Today will look like this:
Check banking, need to hang on to payday next week with minimal spend between now and then
Make soup today - going to use determineds link from last week, have black beans on freezer I'd batch cooked before out to defrost
Check surveys, this extra income definitely helps
Update bullet journal
Get fresh milk from farm shop (have separate pot for this so no impact on bank)
See if I can sort more of 1 box in spare room, on the home straight here. I can then deploy the empty boxes elsewhere
Some form of exercise, even if it's just a few squats at home
Finish making tomorrow nights tea, just need to add last few veggies and make a white sauce and layer the lasagne
Finalise August's food spends, best month this year by far but still a bit high in my opinion. Must try harder this month.
Pick more tomatoes and decide what to do with stash I have. May make above mentioned chilli jam but not today :rotfl:
Have a good day everyone. Purps.0 -

it's an electric one. And not as complicated as I feared. It's just like a slow cooker but in a fraction of the time
I do a thing when I'm at work. Ever time I go to the loo I do 10 squats. I usually manage to do around the 70 markDF as at 30/12/16

Hi all,
Sitting outside tent in glorious sunshine knitting a handwarmer. Saved about £20 yesterday by packing snacks & flask of coffee for the journey, plus so much packed lunch, we ate that throughout the day & didn't require any dinner!
Not counting calories while we are here, but I have my fitbit & am aiming to get the best possible calorie-burn each day.
Wishing everyone a calm & productive start to the week.

DNMS Thank you for starting this weeks thread :A Good to hear you survived the pressure cooker experiment and it sounds like a piece of equipment that will work for you.
Today I need to deal with the washing, I couldn't be bothered with it over the weekend for some reason. So sorting, washing a load, getting it dry and away needs to happen as well as setting up the machine to do a load overnight. By the time I had sorted and loaded the machine it was raining, checked the forecast it is set to last the day, I didn't wash it but I have set it to run overnight
OH gets paid today :j we can finally plan this month's spends. We have to wait until he has actually been paid as even though year to year is similar, month to month varies dramatically. This month could be double or half of last month:eek: I keep trying to build up a buffer to smooth over the peaks and troughs. This month's wages are on the low side it will take over half our savings to cover this month's outgoings:eek: but we will have cleared our final debt with the exception of the mortgage :j
Good luck to everyone who is back at school and work this week.
Today's plans, hopefully, I will add to throughout the day:
Check bank accounts Done
Plan finances for the month Done
Dry washing outside see above
Meal plan Done
NSD Done
Home Educate children for free (& no uniforms or school shoes to buy) DoneFashion on a ration 2024 66/66 coupons remaining
80 coupons rolled over 0/80 coupons spent - using for secondhand purchases
One income, home educating family0 -
