  • Today has gone so quickly, I've not found a minute to post.

Thank you everyone for your congratulations on becoming debt free. Ally thanks for the info on how to get a badge, I'll add it to the to do list. It feels great to have paid off all our debt, except the mortgage. I wish we could be rid of the mortgage as well, but still just over 11years to go. Hoping to take a year off when we next remortgage, which will save us a couple of quid.

CLF, hope you managed to get your work problem sorted out :(
BB, when we became debt free, we targeted the mortgage, and once we were out of the fix period and there were no restrictions, threw every spare penny at that  And in some instances, it was literally pennies... I discovered how to overpay online :rotfl:
1LL, have you done 'it' yet??

Didn't get much done at all yesterday and went out for lunch :o Hardly ever do this, so it made a change, and I had change from £20. GD is coming here today so I expect to achieve very little again :o Taking dog to be groomed, and then possibly out for a picnic, see what she wants to do.... but it won't be anything very spendy! Clean and tidy dog, bit of shopping, picnic and gruffalo hunting at a local attraction at which we have membership, all done :)

However, the following has / will be done:
Use up breakfast with the last of the cereal (switiching to porridge for autumn / winter) and a bendy apple from the fruit bowl Done
Check banks and update spreadsheet Done
Fold and put away washing from yesterday - there isn't anything in there that I will consider ironing! Done
I do however have a dress to iron, so will try and get that done! Not done
Ring garage about spare car key not working / needing a new battery or whatever (??) Not done
Ring for an eye test appointment (I have a feeling these two items will become a recurring theme, but if I have them down here, I can't conveniently 'forget' about them as I have for the past six months or so! :oNot done, will be on tomorrow's list!
Food mostly from home (GD loves those ghastly brightly coloured French fancy cakes, so might succumb to a packet of those :o) Let her choose 1 cake from the bakery counter at the supermarket - then there weren't others left over that I might have to eat :o
Watch portion size and avoid eating rubbish as my weight is creeping up again :(Portion sizes ok today, but failed on the eating rubbish front :o

    Right, coffee and spreadsheets!

    Morning folks!

Was here til 10pm last night. My head is mashed. Problem will be fixed today. Essentially, I gave someone a new method for something, thought they understood and they didn't. But we will re-do it and right it. And it's my fault for not checking over what they did sooner.

At least the overtime money will be good!

    Today's mission:
    • B/L/D from stores
    • Charge phone in work - done
    • Added water collected from warming the shower to water butt - done
    • Watered greenhouse - done
    • Overtime? Depends how long this takes - will def be required
    • Gym at lunchtime - done
    • Knit sock if home at a sensible time as am onto the toe. Best not to do tired.
    • No alcohol
    • No sugary stuff - done
    • If I am on time, nip to B&M for my face scrub
    Have a good one all

Hello you lovely lot, may I join in please?

I am convinced if I focus on small things then that should influence the big things. Often for me, its the little things like spending £4 on something I don't need that means I muck up on the big things, because what's one more thing....

I am proactively trying to reduce the clutter in our house to a) make money and b) make it easier to clean, as well as eat from the freezer (and chest freezer ). Have set ourselves a weekly food budget of £30 because of the sheer amount of food we already have. Additionally I need to save up to get my bike fixed so I can cycle to work and save petrol.

So...today and tomorrow's DFW To Do
    • Return TUClothing order to Argos for a £56 refund
    • Post Amazon electronics sale
    • List 2 books on Amazon
    • List playdough set on facebook marketplace
    • Make dinner using ONLY what is in the fridge and freezer. (cheese+ham+pasta)
    • Use the 2.55kg can of tomatoes to make pasta sauces and freeze. (Might do this tomorrow)
    • Send of Amazon returns to net £37 refund
    • Fingers crossed for a NSD!
