Hi guys, so today we looked at our bank and pepper have refunded our valuation fee- with no word of why. Does this mean we have been declined? 😢. Typical that it’s on a Sunday and we’ve had to stew on it all day!!

Best thing is to call your broker first thing and ask them to see what’s happening. I can imagine how stressed you must have been today. Might be worth checking previous comments on here to see if anyone has been in the same situation and what reason they may have been given. Let’s hope it’s all ok and there’s just a delay with something

Honestly, it’s the worst feeling not knowing and not being able to find out! Don’t think I’ll sleep tonight!!

Can I ask what other docs they requested from you the other day before they advised they would go to valuation. Is your AIP for a 2 year or 5 year fixed rate?

It’s for a 2 year fixed rate- and they asked us to resend the direct debit instruction as for some reason they couldn’t open the file, and resend 2019/2020 books for my partner as broker hadn’t sent them across.

Oh right ok. Has your partner used the self employed income support scheme or have you been furloughed throughout anytime of the coronavirus pandemic?

He was furloughed for a few weeks but business accounts are still looking good- he didn’t use the self employed income scheme at all during lockdown.

So we were declined on the basis that for some reason my partners name wasn’t down as a shareholder on companies house. This is resolved now as a clerical error 🙄. So hopefully our application I’ll be back on track. I don’t know why they didn’t just ask instead of declining!!!

Very annoying! At least it is back on track however, it's a stressful process as it is but made worse by things like that.

Absolutley! I’m so stressed 😩- just want to know either way now. Doesn’t help that the broker isn’t returning our calls either
