Hello,
also my congratulations to the new jobs, guys. :j
SFD today, number 3. Tomorrow won't be as I'll pick up an Asda order, a rather small one as I paid more attention what we have still in and what gets eaten/ is worth the money. We hardly waste any food but some things I just mindlessly stuff in my face because they're there IYKWIM. Like grapes, nothing wrong with them, buy them for the kids, but I end up usually eating them. Or cheese strings, expensive, quite practical, but the kids like normal cheese so should really just give them that. Apple tree is full of apples they like so should save on shop bought fruit and so on.
Have my meals and snacks planned for two weeks which hasn't happened in ages.
Ate healthy so far but didn't go to the gym as I'm still sore form the last three days. Starting to see a different though
Looking fwd to tea, just a simple HM curry but the piece de resistance will be the black pudding pakora I tried making for the first time (black pudding needed using up). The mix already tasted great, will batter them tonight (that's maybe not so healthy)

Another nsd for me today - quite pleased because I'm fairly short of money already so will need to be careful. I'm relieved I've gotten into YNAB so I know exactly where I am, even though I don't like it.
I suspect I'll be in bed well before 10 as I'm so tired. Not giving up
Working hard to pay off my debt
Time to take back control

Today I am grateful for a peaceful day, for some walking, for taking 2 bags to the Sally Army, for sainz refunding for dd's trousers with no quibbling, for not spending any money, for making a scrumptious primal chicken korma, for a good day at work, for time with dd.NST March lion #8; NSD ; MFW9/3/23 Whoop Whoop!!!0

No but I think DH drinks it. :rotfl:
I swapped DH's car for mine to go to Ireland, I always leave it full of petrol and every year I get it back with less than a quarter of a tank and not a drop of screenwash. He is a fiend for washing the windscreen multiple times during a journey. I think he must just like the smell. I filled it up to the top in March.
Strangely, he never buys it himself..... but always takes what is left of mine......4/10/22One Year Mortgage Free Yay!

Coxy and dolly - Congrats on new jobs.
Set your budgets now. Have done this.
Use up. Done this today.
NSDs – Achieved today. 5/20
Spread some sunshine – Spoke to a volunteer at a function tonight who I have not seen before and spent time with her.
Healthy eating – Need to be more mindful with what I am eating. No snacking today.
Invest in yourself. Did wordsearch and watched some programmes that I like.
No spending on takeaways, drinks out, etc unless prearranged and budgeted for. Try to find free activities to do. Went to a volunteer celebration do tonight for the volunteering over the summer. Was free and in London. Did see Tower Bridge going up and down when I left which was great to see.
Exercise – None done today.Frugal Living Challenge 2025 Mortgage free as of 1st August 20130 -
Evening all,
Shattered today, it's been one of those days. Slept badly, then missed my morning train, my yogurt burst in my bag and I tripped on the tube which aggravated my ankle injury  but lots of good things too. Felt positive about work for the first time in ages.
Today was terrible foodwise, a colleague is leaving so we had afternoon tea in the office (basically cake for lunch! :rotfl:). I had a trustee meeting after work but bought a healthy vegan ready meal with me instead of buying takeaway. That cancels out all of the unhealthy cake right?!
Today was a spend day as I had to pay for train/tube. Very grateful for OH collecting me from the station as my ankle really hurt. Right, early start tomorrow so must sleep! Night turtles.0 -
Hi all:j
Hoped for an NSD today but the car was ready to be collected so had to pay for that, nice surprise though as it was ready so soon & also £50 cheaper than quoted. Wont be an NSD tomorrow either as jeweller rang to say repair was ready so have to collect & pay for that tomorrow.
Set your budgets now. Pay to your debts/savings first and live off the rest. Make sure you're on the best deals for utilities, phones, broadband, etc. Are there any areas in your budget that you could cut down on? Going through the switch on energy provider but there is some hitch, so not there yet.
Use up. Have a look through your cupboards and identify any food that's been lurking there for a while and incorporate it into a meal plan. Likewise toiletries, any half opened bottles - use before opening/buying more. Used up a jar of sauce purchased as they were selling them off cheaply to make a type of pasta bake with half the remains of a chicken cooked earlier & added some broccoli. DH liked it but I was reminded why I don't normally buy those kind of things, tasted pretty rank to me. Still plenty of eggs so welsh rarebit on toast for lunch..
NSDs - there are 30 days in September so a minimum of 15 or 20 for a harder challenge. Usual exemptions for ys items, petrol and medical expenses. Still 2/15
Spread some sunshine - be kind to others, help out friends, neighbours, colleagues and strangers. Share your tales of any random acts of kindness. None today
Healthy eating - up your fruit and veg intake, quit snacking between meals or choose healthier options. Not great today, need to try harder with this.
Invest in yourself. Make sure you take the time to do things that you enjoy. Try something new that you've always wanted to do. Will be doing a hot cloth cleanse tonight before bed & getting ready to do more tomorrow in prep for the weekend.
No spending on takeaways, drinks out, etc unless prearranged and budgeted for. No takeaways today.
Try to find free activities to do. Will do.
Exercise - it won't be long before the darker nights start drawing in so make the most of it while you can. Get outdoors for walk/run/cycle even if only for 10 minutes. Got out before lunch put first coat of paint on more of the wall that I prepped the other day. Was working on the weather forecast that said absolutely 0% chance of rain in our area...OK they lied. Paint has now run, gutted.

CCL I know the feeling of knowing where you are and not being happy about it! Ah well.
Lcc Hope today is better for you.
Hectic week here, both kids back to school and Eldest now in secondary 😳, have to say I'm impressed with his new school so far. It's not the best performing of the local schools, but the staff are enthusiastic and know what they are doing, and the communication has been faultless. Plus they have a new head who has an excellent reputation. He's enjoying it so far so I hope that continues! Youngest has been back two days and has already tried to convince me that his new teacher lets her class wear non uniform and that he is old enough to walk across town, with no way of contacting me, to muscle in on a friend's play date :rotfl:. That child is destined for either politics or a life of crime.
Managed a NSD yesterday, socialising with friends later so will be a spend there but not too bad as we aren't going out. Then it's the weekend :j:beer::T0
