  • I received 5 * £10 Next vouchers on Saturday. A long time outside of their terms and conditions and this was about 3 days after ringing their voucher hotline who said the vouchers were going out in December (which was breaking the Terms of the offer).

    What a shambles.
  • Mine £50 voucher arrived last wednesday.
  • i applied for this card and got two phonecalls (at my home number) whilst at work, they never attempted to try my mobile or work number. I called on Saturday and spoke to a guy who couldnt understand a word i was saying - I asked if it was a UK callcentre and he said no its in India - I asked him for a number in the UK to call and he couldnt give me one - he proceeded to tell me that my application had been cancelled but he didnt know why. I havent even received any correspondence to this effect from Barclaycard. I dont think i'll bother applying next time lol!
  • yeah I experienced the Indian call centre and they bluffed and bulled me.

Just to say got my £50 Argos vouchers as soon as I paid the £10 bill. I suggest that everyone cancels this card straight way as you have to wait 3 months to apply for the 2% cash back card described on Martins Credit Card web page. They won't let you have both!

Oh, I plan to do just that. Mind you, I might not send them the bits of the cut up card for 28 days. See how they like it.

  • I've written to the Customer Service Director of Barclaycard today and I have explained to him the confusion surrounding this offer, with some people receiving vouchers, some people receiving application forms, but most people receiving nothing at all. I have also reported to him that many people are being told that their "voucher" was "sent" on 9 November but that they are being told to allow 28 days for delivery!

I have also pointed out to him the damage being caused to the reputation of Barclaycard by so many adverse comments being posted on the Internet.

I am not holding my breath while waiting for a reply, but at least my letter prepares the ground for my writing to him again later and inviting him to do something rather nasty with my returned credit card.
  • Jusat thought I would add my experience so far - I applied for this card after reading Martin's tip. When it arrived it didnt have anything with it to confirm the promotion so I rang to cancel the card thinking I had applied for the wrong card (!)
I spoke to a nice lady in cancellations and told her the reason for cancelling was that I must have been ordered the wrong card ( as no mention of a deal!) and I didnt want it any more.
She checked on my account and she was the one who confirmed that I was entitled to a £50 voucher after the first spend but she gave the impression that it would be part of the first statement and could take 28 days.
I will wait and see! At least we are in this together and helps to know what others are being told.

Have had my form now and requested my debenham's vouchers. Really pleased - thanks for your help and greta tip
  • Applied for the card on 19th Oct and first spend was on 31st Oct. Received first statement on 26th Nov and no voucher form enclosed!!!
Phoned 0870 154 0154 and told in an 'unreassuringly' manner 'it's on its way' and 'soon be with you'.
Today I've decided to also send a secure email to Barclaycard via their site. Soon the Post Office will be inundated with the Xmas deliveries and the expiry date for returning the form (before 31 December 2007) may prove to be too late. Maybe that's their tactics
  • Hi all, got my boots vouchers this morning a few days after receiving my first statement, so I will pay up and cancel now :j
