I see re dresses - that’s good! The bike should sell well at the moment I think.
Sounds like you’re having a lovely time. That’s poor about the disabled facilities though - you wonder who thinks about these things.

Loving that you showed OH the overpayment calculator, thats a good idea
and I'm full of admiration at you managing to get beds in Whitby, even nowadays - several people I know have tried to get there and turned around and left (not covid) they couldn't find a car parking space. It sounds wonderful!

Great news that your DD1 is about to leave for Uni. How are you feeling about her stretching her wings and leaving your nest? I get little anxiety pangs thinking ahead to my DD getting to that stage of life! On the other hand, I know that the vast majority of my colleagues at unis really understand how young people are feeling when they make this transition and they are well supported. But still, it's our babies leaving homeElmoR xx2

themadvix thats what I'm hoping for regards the bike, just need to get my act together and get it on there once I've figured how to use ebay
.
karmacat yep trying to find parking in Whitby can be like trying to find a needle in a haystack, even though they do have loads of car parks it is a very popular destination. We were lucky as we got the last car parking spot at the YHA.
ElmoR hmmm thats a difficult one and depends on the day. If you'd asked me Thursday I would of said can't wait for her to beeping go as her and her sister were bickering and winding each other up constantly. That is something I'm really looking forward to or not been treated like I don't know what I'm talking about. But I'm also looking forward to her discovering more about herself and standing on her on 2 feet. She has been restricted to a certain extent of doing things due to our homelife and I'm looking forward to her not having feel she has to care for her sister or take her sister's needs into consideration whenever she wants to do anything. It will be strange her not been here or available for a cuddle. I worry about covid and what the uni are putting in place but I suspect that is more its about it been out of my control more than anything.I won't be able to help her sort her room as only one parent can help and she has alot of stuff to take and I can't lift, plus she only has an hour slot. We wanted to spend sometime with her on the day but I guess she will want to just get on with things and be done with us. I think at the moment though I just feel really excited for her and just focusing on that to keep the panic at bay. However she's still my baby even though she's an 18 year old woman and I guess I will see how well I cope in the coming months. Thanks for asking ElmoR
TT of £5.46. Set up a standing order for DD1 as I've just closed the account we had for saving for uni - managed to save £880(I think it was greent a couple of years ago talking about uni costs that spurred me into saving - so thanks greent). She's decided to half the amount we were going to give her each month and use one half of the money this year and the 2nd half for her 2nd year. Since this is the only finacial help we can offer, I'm glad we saved , even though it was only a small amount a month we put away, it will make a difference to how much she will have each month.
The hubbster and DD2 have took his mum to the local garden centre so she can choose her mothers day and birthday present and DD1 has gone to see her friend who goes to uni on Tuesday (an area that have just gone into lockdown). The only noise is the dog snoring.
POSITIVES
1) Time to sit and relax whilst everyone is out
2) Account closed and standing order set up for DD1
3) Slept so much better last night, but then again it was my bed, love my bed, always miss it when I go away.
Off to relax with the paper and puzzles.

Not alot happened today. DD1 and the hubbster went for a bike ride with family, DD1 managed to come home bloodied after having avoid our 8 year old neice who wobbled into her path. Although apparently could of been alot worse as the hubbster narrowly missed riding into her head. DD2 knee is sore today so we didn't go. She spent some time practicing her french and grumping about been tired. Which is probably DD1 and mine fault as we went to the local pub last night and when we got back in we discovered we had not completed our 10,000 steps so proceed to run around the sitting and dining room. Which woke her up as we are ' like a herd of elephants'. On a positive note it would appear that I can move onto week 4 of couch 2 5k as I can definately run for 5 minutes
.
POSITIVES
1) A bloodied knee was the only injury from the mass bike pile up.
2) Jacket potatoes for tea
3) The hubbster has started clearing junk from the garage ( chest of drawers).

I don't often laugh out loud, but you and DD1 running about the rooms to complete your 10,000 steps did it for me
poor DD2 is all I can say

Time for myself. A walk with Miss Giddychops in the woods whilst the hubbster holds the fort.

She doesn't look that giddy there! She looks like a great walking companion
I hope the time in the woods was what you needed.

Lovely! Time for yourself *with* Miss Giddychops (yes, who looks very sensible)
2023: the year I get to buy a car1 -
Ha ha ha yes I suppose she does look sensible in that shot, however if it was a video you would of seen her chasing squirrels and making leaf dogs (think snow angels but with leaf matter). Yep we had a great time, although today she was very naughty when we went for our walk. No matter how much I shouted her she refused to come back as she had found her first love- water, well second as food is her first love. She tells everyone in her doggy manner that she is never fed and we are super mean by restricting how much she eats. She once got into one of those 12kg sacks when we went out for the day and managed to polish of about 2kg of food (she wasn't very hungry the next day for some reason). The food is now kept in the garage and the last time I checked she doesn't have opposable thumbs although I'm sure its something she's working on. She is definately due for a bath as she is quite smelly today although I've been unable to locate fox poo or any other type of poo on her, she definately has that doggy whiff. There was plenty people out and about walking today, even on the paths that are not often used or known about.
We've had a good couple of days, DD2 is starting a new art group next week only 3 people including her. She is very much looking forward to it. At least fridays are now taken care of- Art in the morning and horseriding (P.E.) in the afternoon. We went to a local historical site on Thursday and had a lovely couple of hours exploring. DD2 took lots of photos for her next art project with her cheap not an ipad, pad which we managed to get up and running after it sitting in a draw for the past 3 years. Although the paths are not really wheelchair friendly even though they say they are, whoever designed/built them have obvious never been in a wheelchair. Talking of chairs we had a company come and and give us a demonstration of their new electric off roading wheelchair and I have to say DD2 controlled it far better than me or her dad. I only phoned orginally to ask them if they could electrify the chair we bought from them 4 years ago and the man was in the area. After our rugby scrum effort to get her up the hill at boggle hole we decided to investigate an electric option. So if the hubbster's job is secure (october the 12th I think we here) then we will probably go down that route as it will make life easier for me over the next year as it would mean DD2 and I could visit alot more places. Although we may change our minds as it wil cost about £3500 to upgrade her current off roader, but I'd rather she had more independence than a new kitchen.
DD1 goes to uni on Tuesday and the hubbster has had an attack of the collywobbles. He doesn't think she should go as he's concerned that the universities haven't really thought things through properly. DD1 was orginally told/inferred that she would be in a social bubble of 6-8 people-great however we have since found out that those 7 people are not the people she will be living with. She will be in a bubble of 20 in her uni accomadation (non of whom are even doing a science course) and then a seperate bubble of 8 for her course. So infact her bubble potentially comprises of 160 people and that doesn't include her tutors etc. So transmission is not nessecarily because students are out partying its because they are part of multiple bubbles. He's not said anything to her and we can't prevent her going but from looking at what is happening at other universities it is worrying. My biggest concern is that her course will go totally online and she will be stuck there and getting into debt for it. Anyway soap box moment over, time to focus on the positives.
POSITIVES
1) Watched john wick 3
2) Life is never boring
3) DD2 super happy about starting art club
only 1 negative, had to put the heating on today as it is really cold here today, anyone else?
