So scary about DD2! In spite of how heavy the wheelchair is ... you needing to be a mindreader sounds properly adolescent! And the very best of luck with that
2023: the year I get to buy a car2 -
It is a skill I’m trying to develop karma but so far I don’t seem to have the knack. Glorious day here, been to the allotment and harvested basil ( left a load to go to seed for drying and using next year), toms, cues, 🍎s( mmmmm apple crumble🤤), pink fir apples( great for potato salad), managed to salvage some sweetcorn from the mess the magpies made of them and raspberries. Picked lots of french beans and started drying them ready for winter stews.
DD1 been for her second haircut of the month after the bodge job at the local cheap one which resulted in tears. What 18 year old girl wants a mullet that makes her look like a middle aged woman. Looks so much better especially as it came with a beautiful 😊. She’s busy filling in forms for university and will be leaving the nest on the 29th September. She’s joined the Facebook page for her accommodation, doubt she will use it as she’s not into that sort of stuff, but it’ll keep her updated on what’s happening. We have a timeslot and only one of us can help her move in which will have to be her dad as I can’t lift heavy things. I will be in the car people watching though.
The hubbster had to go round to his parents as his mum decided to cut the willow down that he said he’d sort as my sister in law asked him to make some hurdles for her and he’s worried that because it’s not been in water it will have dried out too much and will snap when weaved. Also his dad has been round whilst we were out and took a load of soil for his garden except we need it for our garden. The hubbster is not a happy bunny. At least it’s not my parents creating havoc this time, although dad has tomorrow to work with 🤣.
Workwise the hubbster has 3 days next week at his temporary job and the person he might of been in competition for the job has successfully got voluntary redundancy. However he’s not out of the woods yet as, he will still have to interview for the job if he’s not made redundant as the job has changed and they want the best people for the job🤬.
POSITIVES
1. Glorious day
2. Homegrown food
3. Still been able smile when life feels uncertain
CRx
forgot to say 6930 steps and not been out with Miss giddychops yet😀5 -
Sounds like there are a few changes coming up for you and the family CR? x3
-
Thanks for dropping by teapot2 yes plenty of changes afoot.
Had a lovely day, up and shuffling this a.m. with DD1. I think I will repeat week 3 again as my tracker buzzed a couple of times informing me my heart rate was too high. So using that as my excuse to repeat it again just to be on the safe side of course🤣.
Visited my dad and extended family as my nan is over. My sister didn’t turn up as she’d been out with friends and had had too much pop and was still been ill. It was lovely to see them all and I will miss our get togethers for the foreseeable future. We were all supposed to be getting together in a couple of weeks to celebrate DD1 going to uni but Covid has put paid to that hence our meeting up today. My sister in law is waiting for her results to see if she has Covid and is having to self isolate in her room. They are all climbing the walls but apparently it was made easier when her mum dropped of milk and more importantly wine😉.
Tonight the girls were pleased to learn that tea would be toast and jam done on the fire outside. DD1 was especially pleased as it meant she could ceremonially burn her school books. DD2 was happy as it meant s’mores. It’s the simple pleasures .
POSITIVES
1) Sunshine
2) skies were clear and we could see the stars
3) saw a hare in one of the fields we passed on our walk.

Gosh there's a lot going on! I hope the havoc that your OH's parents caused has been sorted!
2023: the year I get to buy a car2 -
Yep things are kind of sorted karma, The hubbster managed to rescue some of the willow but not near enough for the hurdles. Luckily we have some at the allotment which was reserved for something we want to do next year, but never mind it will wait.
Gosh the last couple of days have whizzed by, the days have been very full from the moment we got up to my head hitting the pillow and tea has been served very late everyday including today. DD2 however has not had to wait other wise it would be a chair and whip job to keep her from killing anyone as she does suffer badly from hangery.
Starting to notice the season change especially at the alloment lots of things coming to the end, however the hubbster made a startling discovery tonight one of the apple trees is flowering which is very bizarre. Although I've noticed our neighbours magnolia is also flowering. Lots of beans in the greenhouse drying for turning into stews. Pumpkins are looking like they might be ready. We've grown polar bear this year and we are going to need a wheelbarrow to get them to the car, will be about 4 trips. They are huge and will look spectacular once carved - very ghostly. I would love to be able to do intricate carving like you see on various sites but ours will just be bog standard carving plus lots of soup. Wish I'd been successful growing chillis this year as they would of been a welcome additon to pumpkin soup. Had to buy a wok as we are getting lots of produce this year that we can chuck in a stir fry. Was disappointed to find out that rice wine has wheat in it whe trying out a new recipe, but to be honest it tasted fine without but I'm curious if it would make it even tastier.
Walked/ran lots and lots of steps and have managed to lose the pound that I've been losing on and off for the past 2 years along with his buddy (nicknamed joe 2lbs). I'm sure that they will be back, they are always back even though \i don't want to see them. Its surprising how little calories a hours walk is, all those treats i've treated myself to over the years because i'd done exercise (throws hands in air). Anyway on a more positive note the doctor rang and my belly area is in tip top condition except for a small cyst which is probably (apparently) link to periods, blood results all excellant. Problems are linked to IBS he thinks. Will look into this more when I get a minute.
New phone arrive yesterday as old phone had not heeded my warning over failing on me when I needed it most. Just gort a refurb as that was all the budget could strtch to this month as we have had to get stuff for DD1 and uni.Although we seem to have everything and if we don't she'll have to sort it out. The bank of mum is now closed in that area and will require a crow bar to open it again or christmas.
Siste in law got her test result which are negative and can return to work (nhs). Which means we can see them at the weekend for a bike ride, well 2 of us can.
POSITIVES
1) Lots of steps and 1lb lost
2) Cheap night away is fast approaching, tide times are great and the sun will be shining.
3) Family is all well
Off to catch up with the rest of you. Take care

Another beatutiful day here. Sold another item on facebook bring me to the grand total of £28
.
The last item was a gorgeous dress that I got last year and other than wearing a couple of times its sat in my wardrobe looking pretty but with no one other than me to admire it. So its been released into the world to dazzle other admirers. I was quite sad to see it go as it had lots of ladybirds on it, but as someone who is found usually in allotment clothes it was no going to see the light anytime soon. I almost got a new outfit today which had flamingos on it but after walking around it with 20 minutes I put it back. Wish I was a dress up/ smart clothes wearer, but If I'm honest I can't be bothered. Anyway the sales money will pay for food when we go to visit DD1 at uni. I have a couple of other dresses, outfits in a similar vein that have hardly been worn so will put them online soon. Other stuff on there isn't shifting so may look at ebay before i look at charity shopping them.
DD1 has been trying to book her practical driving test for most of the morning but the site keeps crashing.
Other than that, not a great deal of excitment going off here other than the ususal.
POSITIVES
1) My cousin has gone into labour (fingers crossed for a safe birth).
2) The sun is shining
3) House is semi tidy.
Take care everyone and enjoy the sunshine if you can before it disappears.

Thanks karma and themadvix baby girl arrived safe and sound last night at 10 pm.
Vix I'm not getting rid of old faith or its back up buddy, but I seem to buy dresses that I think oh thats so pretty and it does. It then sits in my wardrobe after its intail wear screamin to be let out to party again and well I'd rather wear my comfory jeans. I blame the hubbster, totally his fault as I could wear a paper bag and it would past muster, he is another who has no interest in clothes what so ever. Anyway hopefully next week when I get time I'll put another one on. I also have a very old bike to sell, it is an old british made one (about 50 years old) name escapes me ,but not raleigh. anyway think I will put it on ebay as a fixer upper.
We took the kids to Whitby last night (YHA) tea was a picnic in our room. Did have to complain/suggest that if you are providing a disabled room then the shower should have bars or a seat for the person in question rather than attempting to hold onto a water pipe (boiling/freezing) or a carer having to go in with them which is not appropriate really. We went to robin hoods bay today and spent 5 hours on the beach, rock pooling, playing catch or paddling. The hubbster and I remarked on how much sand has been deposited on the beach over the years as when we first started dating 20 years ago it was mainly just scars. The beach wasn't busy so easy to social distance. Managed to get my 10,000 steps done. The kids managed not to bicker whilst there, they waited till we got home instead. Fish and chips were a let down as the batter was very thick and not fully cooked which is the second time from the same place this year. One to be avoided in the future, we'll stick to getting them on the way home at a little village we pass through.. The fudge however is drool worthy. What is even more drool worthy is the hubbster is cooking a full english tomorrow (mine- veggie/gluten free) after I've been for my run.MMMMmmmmmmmmm
POSITIVES
1) The newest member of the clan arrived safe and well.
2) We are not in a local lockdown
3) Showed the hubbster the overpayment calculator and how much we could save either £ or amount of years. Drip, drip, drip effect could be working.
Off to bed now.
