Hi all
Dusting off the flylady hat, have missed you all. Coping vibes for LW. Have done three 9 hour days at work in a row so beyond tired. Flying has been minimal but I have done my best and part of this weekend will have to be spent cleaning and tidying.
I have bough some decent storage boxes for the cupboard under the stairs so that's a job on the list. I have to be ruthless in there and have a proper sort out.
Oh and mealplanning, which I have done religiously for years, has gone out of the window. Just checked my food cupboard and I have 7 tins of tomatoes and 5 jars of curry sauce. So as of next week I will be planning and making shopping lists!0 -
Morning all. Nice to have an update from you LW. Glad you've got doggy company.
My dogs are going to be away later today until Monday with DD who now dog shares. They would like a dog now they have a garden, but work full time so it wouldn't be fair.
Yesterday my GUAG got up and went so no gardening or shoe cupboard sorting got done. So this weekend, those are my priorities.
Have a great day everyone.Spend less now, work less later.0 -
Another busy one yesterday. Hoiked extra plates, glasses and cutlery from various storage places around the house and ran it all through the DW so it's now all sparkly. I think the numbers for lunch went up to 20 briefly and then came back down to 18. I sort of don't care any more - there will be masses of food and the leftovers, apart from the green salad in a vinegarette dressing, will all keep. The only slight complication is that the forecast for Sunday is dreadful so it's probably going to be put back to Monday. The chaps have decided to take that decision today so I've bunged the bread and the cooked and stripped chicken in the freezer.
So, yesterday I:
- scrubbed a the mankiest bits of decking;
- shoved a whole load of stuff in the attic, where it belongs, thus clearing my office and the landing of piles of stuff;
- collected, defatted and froze Kelpie's bones;
- collected yet another prescription from the vet for him;
- dumped a whole load of detritus at the tip;
- moved some money around and found out the intricacies that I needed to know to do so;
- reclaimed an overcharge at an out of town supplier;
- finished the shopping for the lunch;
- did another load of washing and pegged it out;
- went out for dinner and then went to see 'The Shape of Water' at an outdoor screening at Tinside Lido, which looked beautiful in the moonlight. Utterly appropriate location and I love that film so it was completely magical.
OH rolled up his sleeves and planted the pansies at the front and sorted out the worst of the work left to do in the yard while I was out and about so that's another huge weight off my mind.
Today won't be as frantic as it could have been because of the postponement so I can take my time making the cheese pastry and baking it for the onion flans. I've already caramlized the onions, so it's not too onerous.
And then titivating the house so that it looks as though someone cares about it. I have to say that J has only done one and a half hours for us for two weeks and the difference is amazing. Partly it's to do with the fact that I no longer dread doing it, partly it's that I can concentrate on doing the bathrooms properly, spot cleaning carpets and so on, which leaving the dusting and vacuumming to her. It's the best decision I've taken in a long, long time so thank you for being so supportive, Flyladies. And she really enjooys cleaning, her little boy is beautifully behaved and her husband really need the money, so it's turned out to be a good decision all round.Better is good enough.0 -
HB glad your cleaner is getting on OK, sounds like a really good choice all round, long may it last.
It is cold here today, I have a jumper and long trousers on, having lived in t shirts and shorts for the last 12 to 13 weeksa or so it feels most odd.
Cat has been frontlined and is now avoiding me!

Morning.
It's a beautiful day here, with a nip in the air. My favourite kind of weather - apologies to all those hot sunny day loving Flyladies!
WM has run, and DH is cutting the grass, so I will hang the washing out after he has finished. Grass cutting used to be my job until he obtained a second hand mower that is too stiff for me to start. Result! I'm about to embark on the ironing pile, after which it will probably be time to take DD to the stables. I have some towels to drop off at the dog charity while she is riding, so a good use of my time out and 2 binbags leaving the house.
I have a mountain of paperwork to tackle, but I think that will be tomorrow's job, when rain is forecast.
YL - strangely, I have also religiously meal planned for years, but these last few weeks it has also all gone awry. It shows in the shopping, the meals and the daily panic, which I suppose at least means that the meal planning was working. I am also getting back to it from this weekend.
Have a good day everyone.0 -
I'm another one who prefers this weather!
3 loads on line.
DW emptied
Listy done (hall) yesterday - first time I've vacuumed the stairs all hols *blush* house looks MUCH better.
Am planning on stripping and remaking my bed today; will wash it even though rain forecast tomorrow; I'll fold it and wait..
And Benny needs cleaning out.
Oh and I won a prize on facebook yesterday - local independent jewellers (where I have shopped) - need to collect it,Don't put it DOWN; put it AWAY"I would like more sisters, that the taking out of one, might not leave such stillness" Emily Dickinson

Will do.Mine too. Just let us know that you are ok as and when you are able, eh?
I'm just exhausted. Getting up in the mornings feeling like I haven't been to bed.
Everything is taking longer than it used to to do, as well.
How anyone ever finds the time to attend the recommended "support groups" in this sort of situation is beyond me; I barely had enough time and energy before to cover everything, and now I have even less of both, and they expect us to fit in extra commitments! (We're not going to, btw - neither of us is "group-joining" material).
I suspect I may be a tad short on B vitamins and/or iron, but there's not a lot I can do about it right now.
Onwards and upwards......If your dog thinks you're the best, don't seek a second opinion.;)0 -
ooh, thanks for the reminder LW, forgot to take my Vitamin D...‘Keep your eye on the donut and not on the hole.’ David Lynch.
