JoJo speechless, hope he recovers and relatives understand the enormity of it all.
Welcome back to returners.
ATB glad your holiday was ok. Mr N has never fancied a cruise, but it suits Mum and I to go away as she still (at 87) loves exploring new places but without having to carry luggage around. We always pick the companies that have dance hosts so I can indulge my passion for Latin/ballroom/sequence dance.
Went to gym this morning.
Did a load of pruning in the garden.
Quick tidy of kitchen but it was only cleaned a couple of days ago, so I vacuumed the hall, kitchen, lounge (including sofas), dining room and conservatory.
Dismantled a flower arrangement past its best.
Did a load of searches for a fridge/freezer as ours is also past its best. Why are there so many different types, and so slightly different but nothing quite perfect? Or if perfect, out of stock.
Caught up with a few emails.
Dinner cooking while Mr N is visiting his mum.
Hugs to all who need them.Remember...a layer of dust protects the wood beneath it.
It's tough getting rid of the past but it does free up space for the future.0 -
Hugs, sticks and spoons all round.
Kitchen s&s, ironing pile done. I'm sure that I've done more, but can't think what, so maybe I am deluding myself. Again.
The garden is looking tatty. So is the house. I need to get a rocket up me.0 -
Evening ladies!
I've managed to hoover, do a load of ironing, cook a lamb dinner, show a new customer around and take her booking for Christmas/New Year. Sweet little toy poodle who showed NO fear when confronted with my huge hounds, so bonus points for bravery to the chap!
I've never had any experience of gland trouble in dogs ATB, so can't really advise. My dogs are raw fed with extra bone and offal and they seem fine on it, but I know additional fibre can help with expression. Hope the new diet has the desired effect for your pooch.
Big hugs to everyone going through rough times at the moment. Get-well, finance-improving and happy vibes being sent out from Dizzyland this evening x0 -
Bunk beds changed and bedding laundered
House dysoned
Pokemonned with ds2
Parents visited
DS2 just had a massive meltdown at bedtime. Unpicking it I discovered it was about school and results day. He was in a class which only 2 others sat the exams so there was little revision or concentrating going on. He refused to revise at home and school told us not to worry as they had it under control. He has sobbed for ages, he is worried about people asking how he has done.0 -

Thanks, Narc0.
Once he was transferred onto the ward, Dimwit #1 decided to go home.
Dimwit #2 (mine) rather sensibly had already deferred to me in finding out where he was, where he should be and what was holding it up. Once #1 had gone, I gave it 5mins and I checked how being admitted would affect his pension because he was worried about it - it doesn't, checked what the transfer notes said - there was no mention of how dehydrated he was after x days on the floor, had a chat about how much weight he's lost because he is evidently finding it difficult to eat, helped him take soluble aspirin where they'd just left it on the side, sorted out the free WiFi for his phone, found a pen, pencil and notebook in my bag in case he thinks of things overnight (and it won't hurt for him to try, as it could be good for them to see how much is affected in terms of cognition vs speech/words) - and had a very private chat with his [male] nurse that he's being lying in his own wee for over 48 hours, I can smell it despite him being covered with a blanket and could they please get him washed before it causes him pain
I don't want to ever be the bossy cow who marches in, I was very polite each time, but it's not fair he is now dependent upon Dimwits unless I stick my oar in - and he did whisper 'thank you'.
Mind you, the thanks may have been for walking in with an 'I told you I'd hunt you down, you daft old s*d' and then making lots of the sort of jokes he'd make if it were either of the Dimwits in hospital.
The holiday accommodation is absolutely amazing, though. Himself had really made an effort to spoil me. Pity it's only for two nights and we won't be spending much time in it now.I could dream to wide extremes, I could do or die: I could yawn and be withdrawn and watch the world go by.Yup you are officially Rock n Roll

Morning all. Hope any poorlies are improving soon.
I didn't achieve much yesterday. No dog walk. No list. No hoovering.
Must do better today and have already watered the plants in the greenhouse.
Have a great day everyone.Spend less now, work less later.0 -
Morning all
Tip run planned on way back
Drop into builders yard to get a bag of paving sand then
round the corner to buy food, then home.
Will then put shopping away and start to brush in the sand to the block paving.
I'll be back later, have a good day.Breast Cancer Now 100 miles October 2022 100/100miles
