i need to pull my finger out this week!
  • Howdy! I haven't been around for a while but recently after lamenting at how difficult my DH and I find keeping on top of the housework I remembered you lovely lot. So I'm back at it and hoping to turn our hovel into the snug vintage home it deserves to be. We are attempting to do lots of clearing out as both of us are borderline hoarders by nature.

Today I'm still getting over a sinus infection so will have to keep things light. But the plan is as follows:

Monday Munchroom Mess - Kitchen and Dining Room

    Level 1

DH - Wipe/wash out the bin (it is still empty from yesterday) - leave it outside to dry in the sunshine to freshen and deodorise it
DH - Clear sides (worktops) and wipe down
DH - Wipe stuff as you put it back - kettle etc Don't forget the toaster crumb tray
Me - Clear table; dust, wipe/polish - don't forget the legs

    Level 2

Me - Clean out the fridge and weave anything on its last legs into your meal plan

    Level 3

Me - Dust the mantlepiece, dining table and aspidistra stand
DH - sweep and mop kitchen floor
Vintage loving, allotment holding, low waste living. Indi = DH. Maisie Bones = fur baby

Credit Card paid off = 02/04/2018
Bank of Mum loan = £450
Now saving for a house deposit!
  • Hi ladies :)

I am in, thanks for the list xx

We are back from hollibobs. Had a nice time, it was something different for us (cruise), not really my thing but glad we tried it.

Back to reality today and still two weeks of school holidays left! I have been super busy all morning, just stopping now to catch up on here.

    - any advice on how best to deal with blocked anal glands in doggies? Our dog gets them all the time, we are back at the vets every 3 weeks or so with her at the moment. I understand they need more fibre in their diets so we are changing her food, and I have ordered some pumpkin supplements from Amazon that come highly recommended. Any tips really appreciated xx

Right I am going to start kiddies lunch, then need to order yet more school bits for DS (all the 4-5 things we bought him are too big on the waist!) xx

    (((Hugs))) to Frodders and Dancemum.

Shed given another coat of paint. Just about to reboil OH's marmalade because my setting test was obviously faulty. After that a bit of a tidying session is needed and then off to Mr M because Kelpie's out of the turkey mince I need to stuff his kong.
    Better is good enough.

    I've been busy!

Did post this morning, but then the internet fell out, so I'll try again

    I have
    Hoovered the whole house
WM x 2 all out on line
    Bed remade
    Kitchen done
    Grass cut
Now power washing the front drive, half is done, now having a break, then I'll do the rest, let it dry out over night, then resand it between the block paving.

It's raining on my paintwork. It wasn't forecast so I'm cross.

And reboiling marmalade never really works, does it. It's very dark. Tastes fine though.

Need to clear a few admin jobs now.

  • Back in the Ocean City. Planned to be for two nights, but FIL is now in hospital having had another stroke.

And guess what? After finding him on the floor soaked in his own wee, the relative actually called an ambulance but DIDN'T SAY HIS SYMPTOMS, just that he'd fallen over.

Two and a half hours later, the ambulance turns up and he gets blue lighted and is now in the Stroke Unit.

    And then Himself was contacted.

    Sigh.
I could dream to wide extremes, I could do or die: I could yawn and be withdrawn and watch the world go by.
