Half an hour on phone to borough and county council re actual and potential neighbour issue. With the neighbour I had to have the police to last time we 'spoke'.
Planning to do kitchen (ie yesterday's list) bit will wash Vallimobile first in case water gets slopped on floor.

Morning all.
DH has been delivered to and returned from the dr. Towels are now in the wm, although it has been a bit grey so far, so not sure what the likelihood of outside drying will be. Small grocery shop done in Mr W whilst waiting for DH - seemed to be prime ys time, but I exercised self control, as the freezer is jam packed. Some chicken for DD for this evening and some fruit was my limit.
DH is beimg "woe is me" in the LR, so I will defer cleaning there until he has a happier face on. Unfortunately I have sufficient choice in the house to make that not a problem.
I need to get to the allotment later - a friend has been minding it for me while we were on holiday, but apparently I need to get there to pick. It may be Pickle and Jam week, if I have left it too long.0 -
25kg of paving sand purchased, for my paving out the front, and I have just finished brushing it in, and to my suprise I am short by about 1/5th of a bag. I thought I was gonig to have loads left over.
So now I have awarded myself a break.................

Car washed; screen wash and engine coolant topped up.
The neighbours are having a driveway laid - on a property which has no road frontage and will necessitate driving up a footpath. They have another think coming.

I took the dogs to a park which has a cafe, so we had a lovely walk and then settled with a cuppa. Back now and have had an early lunch. Have also done all the ironing, having got the washing up to date yesterday. So I had done something yesterday after all.Spend less now, work less later.0

Sorry about your fil Jojo. I don't know why men pretend to be so absolutely useless when it comes to illness - they're always the ones that are utterly pathetic as patients, too. My slap reflex needs controlling when I'm around other people who are cruel to people who are genuinely ill, by pretending that it's nothing to do with them. (I've got two brothers who play that game masterfully.)
Two loads through the WM and pegged out. The shed survived the rain and will get another coat tomorrow (thanks Kaz for asking). Just as well I left it under the sundeck while painting it - it's not bone dry but protected from the worst of the weather.
Lovely J has been and dusted and vacuummed OH's office and the stairs and landings as well as giving the sitting room and dining room a quick once over. Things look better. I need to spring clean the bathroom and give the kitchen a good scrub before Sunday.
Kelpie's been for hydrotherapy and I've done the shopping. I'll have to go again on Friday because it's our turn to organise the Residents' Association annual croquet tournament on Sunday and that means 16 for lunch. I hope it doesn't rain but if it does OH and I have dreamed up a Crazy Croquet that we can institute instead. Mallets at 1.00 pm. Just as well I asked - I thought it was mid-day.Better is good enough.0 -
diverted by 'offer' of plums... so have been to pick said plums (they're on 'our' allotment - the one I don't actually work on) and have jammed the first 3lbs (I jam in imperial
). I've also been on someone else's allotment (with permission) to pick blackberries; they're open freezing atm to add to overnight oats.
Plastic cupboard cleaned out and rationalised. Was going to CS a couple of vintage tupperwares but I might investigate ebay first...

Went to Zumba. Had 5th PT session with injur trainer - I'm really pleased that I now have more mobility in my shoulder, know a range of exercises to ease pain, am developing better pain management and am more confident knowing which parts of my usual classes to carry out, avoid or just modify to continue progress. Have booked another 5 sessions - costly but I feel well worth it. Coincidentally I had an email from uni this week asking if I could do an assessment tomorrow - fantastic that will pay for the extra sessions.
1 load washing done.
Took mil to Asd* for us and for her then for a walk by the river.
Watered plants.
Did Italian practice.
Packaged up my Icelandic and Norwegian currency and gave to a friend who's going there, less clutter!
Got paperwork ready for tomorrow.
Er that's about it.Remember...a layer of dust protects the wood beneath it.0 -
#1 popped in to see FIL briefly this evening but didn't stay long. Think it's a case of 'the hospital are in charge/don't question or interfere'.
#2 (mine) after we stayed for a couple of hours this afternoon is asking me about practicalities for FIL's future - housing, benefits, rehab, speech therapy, questions to ask, if I have a problem with him staying down to look after him if he is discharged soon, driving, parking, etc, etc.
Of course I don't have a problem with him staying.
Have to admit that it's hard work coming up with things to talk about, but FIL found some subjects very easy and some had him lose the words - so we've got to keep on at it.
I have, however, had a hot bath for the first time since we left for the festival. And I'm pretty sure I've changed colour as a result. I certainly smell better.I could dream to wide extremes, I could do or die: I could yawn and be withdrawn and watch the world go by.Yup you are officially Rock n Roll

Morning ladies

Just a quick one from me as a busy day ahead. It has just dawned on me I start my new job in two weeks, and really need to get ahead with meal planning, prep, finalise school uniforms etc.
I have also re-done our budget spreadsheet, as wanted to set a few financial goals for the end of the year by which point DH should hopefully have extracted himself from the business.
Must must must list 5 things on fleabay today as well.
WM is on, kiddies eating brekkie, will peg out when the washing is done.
Have lovely days all xxMFW
