I can't see YE coming up on the tables, even though, according to their own site, their price for me is as competitive, albeit with different rates but same overall result, ie almost the same as GNE?? Are they not allowing MSE to use their info any more?
I did try several difference computations and it still wont come up for me. I'm almost certainly moving to GNE but was puzzled by the YE thing.0 -
Which tables are you using? Some switching sites will only show companies who give them a cash kick back. You need a whole of market one such as (for now at least!) MSE or (always) Citizens' Advice.
BTW prices are moving on a daily basis at the moment (everyone is trying to guess how bad winter will be so what gas prices will do) so it's worth taking another look now.I am not a financial adviser and neither do I play one on television. I might occasionally give bad advice but at least it's free.
Like all religions, the Faith of the Invisible Pink Unicorns is based upon both logic and faith. We have faith that they are pink; we logically know that they are invisible because we can't see them.0 -
Please help me join Yorkshire Energy for my electricity supply.
I'm hoping someone cleverer than I am will be able to help me!!
I'm a new customer, switching in.
I would have contacted Customer Services, but they are only available 9.00-5.30 Mon-Fri.
YE have sent me an email today asking me to submit opening meter readings online.
I'm an Economy 7 customer, so I have Day and Night readings to submit.
Other suppliers' meter reading portals say Day / Night or have helpful Sun / Moon pictures.
But Yorkshire Energy just says L and N.
And, because this is my first reading both registers say "Previous Reading: 00000"
So I cannot use the previous reading as a hint / reminder.
I don't want the hassle of sorting out readings entered the wrong way round by mistake.
Can someone who has been here before, tell me which is which?
Is it L = Low and N = Normal, for example, which seems the logical answer?
Or L = Live and N = Neutral <joke>
Thanks in advance.0 -

Scroll down to see the article on this link of Yorkshire Energy's regarding "How do I read my meter - For dual rate meters"

I wonder if it is L & H rather than L & N, and the H is just looking like an N because of how it is displayed?A chicken crossing the road is poultry in motion0 -
I was with Flow Energy on a fixed tariff and I had no complaints at all. Unfortunately they couldn't offer me a competitive rate when the contract expired late last year so I looked around and settled on Yorkshire Energy.
The switch was accomplished with no problems and right on time. I was kept informed all through the process with no surprises and it was all very stress free. I have an Economy 7 meter and I receive a meter read request each month by e mail. Simply click on the link and enter the two sets of figures and they record the details on my account and then calculate my running balance. Everything works very well and they have not made any mistakes thus far,.0 -
HI... been with them since last September (after switch from a troublesome experience with TogetherEnergy!) - they've been responsive and accurate throughout0

Hi - Had no problems at all with this supplier. Switch went smoothly, excellent on the phone and no long waits either. Contrary to an earlier post we do receive regular notice emails to give monthly reading. We obviously got in on an early special offer to attract customers but they seem a sensible lot and are not outrageously cheap now so seem to be managing their cost basis OK. Their website is basic with the minimum info required and for example there is no energy usage bar chart for example. The downside as with all these suppliers as they are primarily web based so harder for non internet users to access although I believe that they would accommodate telephone access with DD or mail billing customers who don't use the web.0

I am impressed with the Yorkshire Energy's customer service. I change in July '18 and have called a few times with questions. Ok I read my meteI every month as prompted, but at least I am not having estimated bills. I reported a gas leak and was directed to the right number along with helpful advice. I signed up before there were any comments re customer service , and I can say I haven't regretted it as I would definitely put them at the top for service.0

Yes, you get an email once a month asking you for readings. About 10 min later you get another email inviting you to view the new bill.0
