Yorkshire are now £500 more expensive to Bulb
I realised that their 0113 number was 35p per minute!
Seems unlikely, unless you have usage far above that for a typical domestic property.  Can you provide us with the consumption and tariff rates?
0113 is just the standard geographic code for the Leeds area, so you must have chosen the world's worst phone tariff.  What is it?  Instead of your £10.50, I'd have paid just 30p on my landline (Pulse8) or 90p on my mobile (Three PAYG), so you have some serious MoneySaving still to do !

whilst I was waiting for then to pick up I googled 0113 numbers, and 02 that's where the 35p comes from. In retrospect I'm not sure that that is correct as 0113 is just a Leeds number, so its probably included, and the google search I used was wrong.
Re the £500 extra , that's what is reported on the MSE energy club using my last years energy (gas and electric). from Bulb vari fare to Yorkshires Energy variable.
(This also includes for the charging of 2 EV's)
Our annual cost for Bulb is around £3660

First billing cycle since the switch - meter readings entered, bill produced within the hour. No complaints from me so far :)

  • Just interested in any comments over generic emails from Yorkshire Energy and do other companies have any problems with these as well.
Switched from Weasel fixed tariff to Variable Tariff at the start of April. The Weasel Fixed Tariff ends 30th June and so to give 30 days notice of your account changing I received an Email from Yorkshire Energy stating that my fixed Tariff is coming to an end and these are your options either to stay or switch to another company.
Contacted YE who confirmed I'm on Yorkshire Energy Variable and the Email shouldn't have been sent. I will watch my account with interest.

I signed up for YE's Variable tariff before 10/5/20 as it was, by far, the best deal on the market. I normally opt for fixed deals but there was nothing very competitive available at the time. As there are no exit fees from YE Variable I decided this would be a good holding position to wait for a tasty fixed deal to come along, as Covid depresses energy prices.

All went well with the transfer except I was unable to post my opening electricity reading because the MPAN and meter serial number were absent. I waited for the suggested 5 day maximum delay, but still no go. I emailed all the meter information to YE but have only been able to post my opening reading today.
  • Switched to Yorkshire Energy in September 2019 after being with NPower for 9 years. I didn’t realise how much better energy providers could be until I made the switch. I now have accurate bills emailed to me minutes after taking monthly meter readings. Love it!

Second month billing cycle since switching - no drama, bill generated in minutes not hours or days.... so far so good :)

Switched to them in May; without asking me they inflated my electricity reading by 1000 units as "it looked too low". That meant that I have now over-paid my original, higher-cost, supplier by 1000 units.  If they had asked, I could have explained that we had been away for 6 weeks.. hence the low reading. Not the best of starts!!
