Vote labour in and we won't have a country left.
I suspect it wouldn't be that bad

Absolutely agree. In a way, part of me feels that those who wish to install a marxist government get what they wish for, so that they can learn for themselves what living under communism is like. However, I would not like my family or friends to go through the experience.

Militant of the 1970s, now renamed 'Momentum', has wormed its way into many key institutions in society. Of course, it doesn't have such luminaries who defended the 'working class' at the time (when there still was an actual working class, now largely gone), as that robotic motor mouth (think his name was Derek Hatton), who is now a property developer, I believe. But it has retained such nasties as Corbyn and MacDonald, with Corbyn hiding himself under the guise of a harmless, nice old duffer, when he is clearly nothing of the sort (though he is certainly old).

In any event this change of topic is just an obvious diversion from the subject of loss of sovereignty to an EU organisation that is unaccountable to citizens of any country. No one has yet come up with an argument that will make me change my mind about this issue. I am more glad than ever that I made the decision to vote leave.
  • I'll laugh my head off if Corbyn gets in.

Any damage he does would be inconsequential compared to the much worse damage from Brexit.

Do you know what Marxism and communism are? Because Labour is neither, by a long shot.

Some people care about more than just personal wealth. I quite happily pay more income tax to live in Scotland.

You get it back in other ways. Public spending in Scotland is higher than the U.K. average and of course Scotland is currently responsible for 30% of the U.K. total budget deficit. You and Hamish are being subsidised big time by the rUK.

Depends on how you do the accounts. But if we're such a drain why not kick us out of the UK and let us be a drain on the EU?

The accounts have been done. They are called Government Expenditure and Revenue Scotland (GERS)

Net Fiscal Balance 2017-18 - Including an illustrative geographic share of North Sea revenue, was a deficit of £13.4 billion (7.9% of GDP). For the UK, was a deficit of £39.4 billion (1.9% of GDP).

There is no 'depends' about it. GERS is an accredited National Statistic publication. It's what the SNP's very own Growth Commision uses.

Well if it was up to me.....:) And in any case I don't think any independent Scotland is going to get an annual £8.5 bn bung from the EU.

Sadly the Treaty of Union contains no provision for expulsion.

I suppose England and Wales could hold an independence referendum and vote to leave the UK. :)

With U.K. levels of infrastructure and GNI an independent Scotland would no doubt be a net contributor to the EU budget and that of course would add to the huge Scottish budget deficit.

I absolutely do know what marxism and communism are, having had close relatives who had the delight of living under communism. Some lost property (e.g. a flat one set of relatives owned was split in two, with the stolen half being rented to someone else by the state), others were murdered.

You think labour is 'neither, by a long shot'? Corbyn and MacDonald are clearly marxists, and the communist party in this country has put itself firmly behind this alleged 'labour party'. The tactics comrade Corbyn's Momentum (aka Militant) followers are employing are precisely those used by communist systems wherever they've been introduced.

Nowhere has communism worked. What it has done is been responsible for the deaths of millions and the impoverishment of populations wherever it has been introduced, with those at the top, of course compliant with the system, living in luxury.
