Brexit the economy and house prices part 6

You are also overlooking the fact that you can make the same comments about business leaders in the EU. The Germans have been slavishly following the EU line that only the UK will be harmed by Brexit. It's taken until now for Eric Schweitzer, head of the German Chambers of Commerce and Industry to speak out about the harm that Brexit will do to German manufacturers and by extension to other EU countries, especially Italy with whom they are intertwined.
That's just the start.
Post Brexit our politicians will look for someone to blame, should there be a downturn.
And that target is the EU. It's obvious. Why? Because there is no natural love for a bunch of bureaucrats who openly show disdain for PM May.
Osborne had form for blaming the EU in the past.
Once our partisan press get their teeth into it, I could easily imagine a negative outlook on German autos, French wine etc.
It's not like we can't source cheaper alternatives from elsewhere.
Obviously, a bit of misinformation wouldn't go amiss, just to stir the pot a little.0 -
No he's not is he.
However he's not saying he's happy to take the hit as you suggested.....
Please can we have a little more honesty for the new year...
Maybe happy wasn't the right word. They'd accept losing UK trade to maintain the EU, as losing UK trade is the lesser of the evils.0 -

That's their choice then, and they accept the repercussions. No point in bleating on about it.
All of this is a choice at the end of the day. I don't have to agree with your choice, nor you mine.0 -
If there is a fine or punishment levy that was on the voting paper, then by all means point it out, and I'm sure people will pay !
It is clearly *not* the voters fault for participating in a referendum designed by people who are paid.
Voters were clearly told what the effects of leaving would be. They don't get let off just because you thought everything would be fine regardless.0 -
Not when her only motive is to keep us in the EU cesspool.
We will soon be able to go back to creating british cesspools in the rivers and on the beaches of the glorious home land.
I wonder what the hate filled brexiters will direct their vitriol at after they've destroyed the UK by leaving the EU.0 -

They should have no fear Vladimir Putin has their back!

I find it amazing how gullible people are who are fighting against another referendum.
It's leavers who will lose the most if they don't get a chance to tell parliament what they actually want. It can't be that they are scared that brexit will be reversed, they tell us that the country hasn't shifted it's viewpoint yet.
It must be they are anti democracy and think another referendum would be too much democracy.
Putin bought brexit and if he doesn't get it then he'll be asking for his money back.0 -
Seems like there is co-operation going on between the Parties to amend the Finance Bill to stop a No Deal Brexit:-
Robert Peston
✔ @Peston
Cross-party coalition of senior MPs, led by @YvetteCooperMP and @NickyMorgan01, is attempting to amend finance bill to prevent the government going for a no-deal Brexit without obtaining the consent of parliament. There should now be a big vote on 8 Jan.
For some added Christmas cheer we can turn to the latest polling research by Peter Kellner which shows growing support for remain:-

UK businesses were not being very vocal in describing the downside of Brexit and leaving without a deal.
The UK newspapers are full of Brexit gloom stories everyday. People simply ignore those news lately as public knows it is part of Project Fear 2.0 campaignHappiness is buying an item and then not checking its price after a month to discover it was reduced further.0 -

Wow, don't you think it's time to stop moaning about Leavers. Why is it that Mr C and his government have taken little criticism of their actions? It's all very well offering the opportunity to Leave or Remain - but where was the detailed plan for the Leave Option? The answer of course is that there wasn't one:eek:. I should imagine that the vast majority of people (whether Leave or Remain) would could consider that fact as totally irresponsible. There should have been a plan and I doubt few would argue about that.0
