What does "managed" no deal mean anyway?
Seems like this :

Obviously, we would prefer them to be more advanced, but I guess that local politics got in the way.
Being so close to tax year end could be an unwelcome work burden for some companies.0 -

The Guardian say it's "a dangerous fiction" but it sounds better so must be good.

So today we hear the government wants businesses to now activate No Deal contingency plans and preparations.
As it turns out, I was on the team that wrote one of those contingency plans last year for a large company here in the UK, and step one is to activate the 90 day consultation around compulsory redundancies for several hundred people.
Is the government really sure it wants those letters going out the week before Christmas?“The great enemy of the truth is very often not the lie – deliberate, contrived, and dishonest – but the myth, persistent, persuasive, and unrealistic.
Belief in myths allows the comfort of opinion without the discomfort of thought.”

To be honest I think that sort of pressure will be great for May, her strategy seems to be to make no-deal look so bad MPs are forced to vote for hers.
I'd expect any politician with a heart to be upset by it, but I can't say anyone would be surprised. That company won't be the only one - no deal will be devastating for a lot of businesses.0 -

Still, it's nice to know your hard work came in useful.:)
Although if the rest of the team were remainers such as yourself, it comes as no surprise the first thought was to sack hundreds. If I don't reply to your post,
you're probably on my ignore list.0 -

What makes you think the first thought was to sack hundreds, or that it's a remainer trait?
You don't know enough about the company (nor do I) to be able to make anything but petty digs. I dare say Hamish put a lot of effort into avoiding making anyone redundant, and he certainly doesn't sound happy with the idea of having to do so.
But if you make trading conditions hard for businesses, the end result is almost certainly a reduction in workforce. If only businesses had told the government that at some point in the last 2.5 years...0 -

It's probably just more bull poop because it's not like there's a history of honesty in posts.
This is an open forum.
Within reason you could write anything and many do.
I'm sure it's been said before that any company not planning for no deal Brexit from the moment the referendum result was known was foolish to the point of negligence.
Tales of warehouses filling with goods proves preparation is happening.
As usual here it looks like nothing more than attempted point-scoring.0 -

Maybe she’s going to run it right up to the last week of March , then cancel brexit? We can hope.“What means that trump?” Timon of Athens by William Shakespeare0 -

You obviously don't know that the busiest cargo port in the UK isn't Dover. It's Immingham.
Here's a handy report which should help you to understand that other UK ports are already busier than Dover which in fact isn't even in the UK top 7 busiest cargo ports.

Never mind though, you carry on trying to belittle Brexiters oblivious to the fact that actions like yours are what led to the UK voting for Brexit. You're doing a great job of ensuring that enough will continue to demand that we leave.

3500 soldiers to be on standby to help out with whatever is needed after no deal brexit. I don't even have anything snarky to say.0
