Parliament has apparently refused the no confidence vote. I'm not sure what that means since this is all new. Another contempt motion?

Also, this may explain why the division is never going away:

Adding the Managed bit is evidence (if somewhat late) that they have to prepare for the default exit.

There is growing evidence that the EU side are Managing their approach to this exit too.

It's pragmatic to do so from our side.

It doesn't rule out further trade talks after Mar 2019 of course. The door should always be open to improving relations in the future, and moving on from the bitterness currently there.

EU has just announced probably to stop the idea gaining traction in UK circles, that a "managed no deal" will not be entertained.
A 'pure' no deal it is then!:)

As far as I can tell, all the bitterness is coming from the UK. Once we get over our superiority complex and start to engage the EU like adults, we should get something sorted pretty quickly :)

I think the EU know they have the upper hand, we are looking like the amateurs that we are.

No one has the upper hand. Easy to sit there and say no. Hence why the UK just needs to push forward and look after itself. Which is what the EU is doing. Self interest rules.

In the absence of agreement on May's deal which looks extremely unlikely, then this is the only legitimate way forward which respects the referendum.

Any sensible Government who were fully committed to Brexit would have been preparing this option from the start as a fallback plan B.

Yeah, you can't polish a turd but you can roll it in glitter.

What does "managed" no deal mean anyway?
