I love how remain guys keep getting it so wrong.
    ;)

You obviously don't know that the busiest cargo port in the UK isn't Dover. It's Immingham..

Depends what type of cargo. Dover is the busiest UK port for Ro-Ro cargo.

Your post was literally a sneering dig at another post. If you're going to make sneering digs at other people's posts at least make sure you understand what they've said before you make yourself look silly. I appreciate the fantasy land of Brexit, where everyone who disagrees is wrong all the time, has it's appeal - but back in the real world other people use facts, and even judge people on their willingness to use them.

I've yet to read a post of yours that isn't a sneering dig at someone who doesn’t share your views. The last sentence is a good example if not the best.

An excellent explanation of why leaving without a deal and moving to WTO terms would be such a bad idea.

I particularly liked the line.......in free trade terms WTO is like being in the 4th division!

But to be fair and balanced, it does say that it is a step up from using jerseys for goalposts :)

As a country with a longer term plan, it is absolutely stupid to create a bottleneck in the SE of the UK.

The road network could easily log jam in that area in years to come.

We have other ports with potential to expand.

Equally, Ireland is stupidly dependant on goods coming via the UK.

We can easily prioritise local traffic over anything going to Ireland.

Ireland seems to be making plans to bypass England for a lot of cargo, so that shouldn't be much of a problem.
It's just not worth taking goods out of a customs union and back in when you can go direct. Saves reliance on a 3rd party that might start playing priority games with their goods.

Unfortunately we're not a country with a long term plan, or even a short term plan.

Too much of their food business is linked with UK firms. To be more robust they need to redirect their trade.

It would free up road space on our network too, so it's a win on several levels.

Yeah the stuff coming from the UK will still need to do so, but if they can cut out the stuff going through the UK it'll make a huge difference.

Not a hope. The ferry to France takes 22 hours from rosslare. Two years ago there was a lot of talk about bigger ships on the ireland France route . None of it has happened.
