The EU or Brussels. Brussels is the political master. The EU is far from agreement on many issues. Corbyn isn't a remainer either. With FOM there's nothing to stop moving to where the grass is greener and your views would be more aligned. For instance Germany which is far more socialist in outlook. Isn't that the whole purpose of the club that you wish to remain in.0 -
On the other hand the purpose of democracy is to make the country you have roots and live in more aligned with your outlook.
Oh yeah, democracy. Nearly forgot it existed.0 -

Always makes me laugh that. IM 30 got a degree and voted brexit, but then i just dont live in fantasy land.
So when the EU decide we need to accommodate more and more people and were like 'nah thanks mate, its pretty crowded here, but theres loads of room in France if you want to try them?' But then the french arent too keen on sharing that much. The french people i know (got a holiday home there so quite a few) are incredibly patriotic.
I dont owe allegiance to a nation. I owe allegiance to myself. My voice is bigger in a nation state than a super state.
Youre a dreamer if you think the concept of country is changing. Apathy doesnt make changes.
OK you are young and voted for Brexit. I am very old and voted remain.
I am sure you have probably forgotten more about computers that I have learned but I can not agree with you when you say the EU decides. But it doesn’t matter now.
However do remember there are two types of foreigners who come and continue to come to Britain.
EU citizens under free movement the majority who have a job and pay tax. Those that did not get work within three months could be sent home.
Refugees who are somehow able to get into Britain without the agreement of the Government.
I suspect the first group will self limit but what will Britain do about refugees that was not being done. There will be no Brexit dividend for Britain.0 -
I understood that a number of people thought that house prices were being driven up by foreigners so voted for Brexit.
Well more news that will make them feel better about all the bad news surrounding Brexit.

QUOTE
Britain's housing market has slowed since 2016, particularly in London where higher purchase taxes on houses costing over 1 million pounds and less foreign investor interest since the Brexit vote have had the most impact.
"Uncertainty about the economic outlook on the back of the never-ending Brexit negotiations appears a key drag on sentiment," RICS economist Simon Rubinsohn said.

Some EU citizens may arrive with a job, but the ones around here do not integrate and have no interest in learning English, they live in ghettos and work cash in hand, sending the vast majority of money "home", injecting very little into the economy. They are generally builders/plumbers.
There is a Romanian (she told me her nationality) woman, well, girl really who sells the Big Issue near us. She actually speaks English and told me her sob story. She arrived here and was not immediately placed in a luxury home (she had been informed everyone arriving was given the keys to a nice house), and was shocked to learn she might actually have to work to earn a living. She moans to anyone that listens about the injustice of actually having to do as she is doing. I did point out that no-one was forcing her to do it, she could go home to her parents, but she is actually earning enough to send money home to them. She has no intention of spending money here, she actually intended to live off the state and send any money she could earn under the table home.
We need to block the black market economy. And yes, I know English use it as well, but maybe they wouldn't have to if they could earn a reasonable amount normally, and didn't have to compete with Eastern Europeanss charging considerably less because they live 15 to a house and have very few overheads. What is this life if, full of care, we have no time to stand and stare0 -

Why will news about one city (that's has very different issues to othr places) be cheer for people livng anywhere else.
Bristol/cornwall don't have the same number of foreign buyers so unlikely to be affected in the same way by the same taxes.0 -

Which is great for us who have that right, but the children who are denied that because they aren't old enough before FOM will be denied that opportunity.
The vote to leave was a betrayal of their future, but then it's what baby boomers keep doing.

Which is roughly 3% of Reese Moggs, 6% of David Camerons & 150% of Theresa Mays.
I'm not sure what that illustrates.Enterprise_1701C wrote: »Some EU citizens may arrive with a job, but the ones around here do not integrate and have no interest in learning English, they live in ghettos and work cash in hand, sending the vast majority of money "home", injecting very little into the economy. Sending money "home" is an argument often used against immigrants. But savers also inject very little into the economy. If your local butcher spends all the money he makes on foreign holidays, then that puts very little into the economy as well. Are you going to campaign against that, or are you limiting yourself to immigrants?
The way 50% of people treat immigrants, it's unsurprising they don't integrate.
