Brexit the economy and house prices part 6

Trump wants UK out of the EU so they can impose their trade regs on us. If you think that any UK trade deal with the US will be run by the UK, I very much doubt it.
Putin wants to break up the EU as it is a threat to his Napoleonic ambitions. The EU is a big buffer to this megolomaniac.
Both Trump and Putin will be ecstatic if the UK leaves the EU. I don't think that is something I personally would be happy with.
Considering your strong views. Shame you don't consider the Common Agricultural Policy a burden on the UK taxpayer too. Even Families put their own children first, before other relatives.
Worth remembering that Russia can squeeze whenever it likes. Germany is dependent on Russian gas imports. Even the mighty Merkel backs away from agreeing to impose sanctions for fear of upsetting them. The world is a far more complex place that you understand.0 -
Remain focussed on fear, my mind was made when Obama was trotted out on TV saying we'd be bottom of the list..
Anyway we can't re-write democracy, hope the few in London had a nice day out today.
But we can reflect and think it out again surely
The ineptitude of the Government is appalling.
There will be a deal but it will not be what exiters want. Every deal has a compromise.
I can see the transition period extending to 10 years in order for UK to finalise Trade Deals. You know as well as I do that the Canada Deal for example took years to agree.
But I suppose if the UK is leaving the EU standards will slip, and any port in a storm will apply to get the deal signed.
In the meantime, UK pays the EU its contribution.
Win for whom now?0 -

Any chance of itemising a few positives that will result with Brexit.

I totally understand all those machinations. It is all delicately balanced with diplomacy etc. That is why I cannot understand the UK just leaving with no plan and no comfort for anyone other than infighting, NI border issues, having a go at ROI for actually standing up for themselves and so on.
Must be awful to realise that the Empire is gone now and UK is on its own.0 -

Charming.
So what are the positives of Brexit? Even one will do.
And how will it be achieved painlessly and quickly so UK does not have to pay the EU billions for an extended transition period?
If UK gets that far that is.0 -

And the positives of staying, chucking endless amounts of ££££££ into a failing one sided system.Official MR B fan club, dont go............................0 -
Out of interest what do you think would happen if we had another referendum and remain won by and narrow margin and what would be consequences. Do you really think we could just go back to as it was before referendum.
There will never be another stay/go ref.
The march today was to grant people the right to vote on any deal/no deal agreed by May et al.
I get the feeling that the march today was misinterpreted as a demand for another ref. It wasn't, it was just ordinary people wishing to have a say on whatever is decided. I personally think that is reasonable. But I have no doubt that my view on that is not welcome here. I don't care.0
