Do you remainers ever learn?
Aside from the reasonably small rump of Brexiteers in our Parliament, the political class here and across the channel are fixing to give us another vote. Concessions on leave voters concerns will probably seal the deal on a remain win. I’m expecting to hear more such talk on concessions before the crunch votes in the Autumn.
Who was it who said, “they only listen, when you vote to leave”?“Britain- A friend to all, beholden to none”. 🇬🇧0 -
Plus this is someone talking about someone else May be talking about some unspecified concession regarding migration. It's not very concrete.0

Straight out on a no-deal ticket, and watch the EU back-peddle like all b#ggery on it's threats.“If you trust in yourself, and believe in your dreams, and follow your star. . . you'll still get beaten by people who spent their time working hard and learning things and who weren't so lazy.”0

Yes it’ll be difficult to deliver local services amid plagues of locusts and a downpour of frogs.

Where to begin even?
At random (Barnier):
"...unless Britain came up with fresh thinking on how to avoid a hard border by the June EU council summit, further talks were in danger of collapsing"

Ah - starting to make sense now. So when the U.K. government makes a threat (https://www.telegraph.co.uk/politics/2018/06/13/uk-threatens-pull-galileo-project-eu-rejects-calls-full-access/) it’s just being firm in our negotiating position; but when the EU makes a statement of fact (as per your example above) it’s a “threat”...
All you’re doing is exposing the hypocrisy of the Brexiteers. We must presume in the absence of anything, you have no examples of the EU making threats.0 -
Brexiter: we're going to leave the EU!
The EU: Ok.
Brexiter: But we want to keep this benefit of membership, this one and this one.
The EU: umm, no, they're for members only, sorry.
Brexiter: ah! See!? They're making threats! Look! They're making threats! See!?0 -

No need to make threats. As was suggested at the outset. Intransigence in Brussels would over rule any pragmatism. Barnier is not neutral in the sense of being a civil servant. His own political views are a major influence on the EU's stance.0
