Ah, the NIESR which works for the European Commission according to its own website.
Yes, the NIESR has undertaken research on behalf of the EC.
Which is different to 'working for the EC'.
But you knew that, didn't you? :)
We undertake research commissioned from a variety of sources: government departments and agencies, the research councils, particularly the Economic and Social Research Council (ESRC), the European Commission, charitable foundations, and the private sector.

Don't blame me, I voted Remain.

Shame on you for continuing to peddle fake news.
During the LBC interview, at no point did Mandelson say that Leave voters or Brexiteers were nationalists who hate foreigners.

What exactly is fake about Mandy being quoted verbatim? I'm actually more interested in his views about his personal patriotism which some of us consider to be laughable. A man who has had his snout in any passing trough and was dishonest whilst in office. Self interest has governed eveything he has ever done.

Your fake news link leads to a fake news website with headline : Lord Mandelson: Brexiteers are nationalists who hate foreigners, not patriots like me
Mandelson never said such thing. There's nothing verbatim about it. It's fake news.
Don't blame me, I voted Remain.

Peter Mandelson has also given an interview to LBC. In it, he accused what he described as "Brextremists" as being nationalists who !!!8220;hate other countries!!!8221;. Making a distinction famously made by George Orwell (although on slightly different grounds), Mandelson said that he saw himself as a patriot. Nationalists were different, he went on:

These Brextremists are nationalists in the sense that they hate other countries, and they hate foreigners. And that is, in my view, what motivates them and drives their behaviour.

Nothing "fake news" about it Mayo, it's all on tape. Mandy is supporting leave!!

The tape is fake news. Everything is fake news if you don't like it.

"Nationalist's nationalism which is not to be confused with patriotism. Patriotism is love of your country, wanting to stand up for your country, wanting to serve the best interests of your country.

Nationalism, on the other hand, is hatred of foreigners and thas what they are. They are nationalists. They should not be, as I say, confused with patriots."

I feel I am patriotic, I want the best for Britain. It's why, incidentally, I voted Remain in the referendum although I respect the contrary view of very many others.

"But these people, these Brextremists, they are not like that. They are nationalists in the sense that they hate other countries and they hate foreigners. That is, in my view, what motivates them and drives them."

    Mandy.

As we know, extreme extremists of all types exist in the UK.
The type Mandelson is on about here might comprise 0.0.?.01 of the population. So why go on about it?

And that correlates to the headline?

    Are all brexiteers brextremists?

Samuel Johnson - 'patriotism is the last refuge of a scoundrel'

You can argue the point but in Mandy's case, it is difficult to disagree with.
